What happened here? Did someone spill their Kool-Aid? Nope! This is actually the work of a Blue Stain Fungus, adding a bit more colour to our forests! Have you spotted this fungus before?

Check out this cool find! Lacewings lay their eggs on silk stalks to help protect them from predators. That’s like if we put our baby cradles on top of telephone poles for protection...and it works!

Happy Canada Day everyone! This White Admiral is definitely dressed for the event with his red and white markings. But did you know that it doesn’t always sport... its distinctive snazzy colours? As a caterpillar, they are one of the many species that have evolved to look like bird poop in order to avoid predators. It’s not the most glamorous adaptation...but hey, it works!
