On last Thursday's episode of RadiOPIRG, CKUT community radio host Stefan Christoff shared an audio letter from Tiohtià:ke/Montréal that highlights some reflections from community activist efforts in the city in 2020. First we hear from musician Jessie Stein, who plays in the band The Luyas, speaking about being involved in the community artist campaign to support the Immigrant Workers Centre (Iwc-Cti) in their efforts to support frontline immigrant and refugee workers who st...aff the North America wide Dollarama distribution centre in the city. Then we hear from Aaron Lakoff of Independent Jewish Voices Canada about their ongoing work, including the #NOIHRA campaign that is fighting against the attempts to conflate criticism of the Israeli state with Anti Semitism. Aaron also speaks about a project to highlight voices from occupied Palestine within the context of the pandemic. Music in this segment by The Luyas and 47Soul (47soul ). This segment was produced by community activist and radio host Stefan Christoff who hosts the weekly broadcast (and now podcast) Free City Radio on CKUT 90.3FM.
