At #GuelphSoccer, we aim to make soccer as accessible and convenient as possible by bringing soccer to you! Our #NeighbourhoodSoccer program which was introduced in Summer 2020, is a co-ed recreational soccer program for participants aged four to eighteen, with a focus on fun and enjoyment. It is led by program supervisors and assisted by volunteer coaches. The program runs Monday to Thursday with sessions in four different neighbourhoods throughout the City of Guelph (North,... South, East, and West). Sessions take place at a different field location each day, making the program accessible for players despite where they live in the Guelph community. The program offers participants a low-cost option conveniently located in their backyard, while still providing a developmental opportunity for players to progress throughout the summer. These smiles are #why we do what we do! Our #JuniorGryphons Soccer School is meant for players who wish to increase their skills as they aspire to learn and further develop as players. Players participate in fun games and activities to develop basic soccer skills such as dribbling, passing, shooting, and first touch control along with learning skills and techniques crucial to the game of soccer. All sessions are facilitated by our technical staff and assisted by volunteers. Limited spots available in our U6-U8, U9-U11, and U12+ programs. Exciting news! Registration is only one week away; opening Monday, February 15, 2021! Registration will be done through our new registration platform (PowerUp). Most families will be new to this system, so you will be required to enter all of your personal information for both yourself and your child(ren). The system will then (based on t...he date of birth and gender) share what programs are available for registration. Early bird pricing ends April 5, 2021 (for summer house league). U4-U5 save $15 and U6-U18 save $25 if they register before April 5th. A $50 deposit is required at the time of registration to secure your spot. On May 1st, 2021, the remaining program fee will automatically be charged to the credit card on file. *The remaining fee will only be required for payment should the program run as planned. Should the program not run due to COVID-19, the $50 deposit will be applied as a credit to your PowerUp account. This credit can be used towards any future programming with the club. In September, Canadian Tire Jumpstart Charities announced an $8 million sport relief fund to help sport and recreation organizations continue to deliver programming in 2020 and beyond. As you may be aware, many community organizations have shut their doors due to the financial burden created by COVID-19, including lost revenue and increased program costs. Guelph Soccer has experienced the impact of the pandemic first-hand. We recently received confirmation that we are amon...gst 668 sport and recreation organizations nationally to be provided with grant support through Jumpstart’s Sport Relief Fund. We are beyond grateful to receive this news and know how positive an impact it will have on sport and recreation organizations, and ultimately, on kids across the country. With Jumpstart’s support, we’ll be able to maintain gender-specific programming throughout the Club, hire a female technical staff coach to help coach and mentor girls across our Club and continue with our She’s Got Game project.
