Today, in Canada 1 in 6 children live in food-in secure homes. A National School Food Program is not only a way to address food equity but an opportunity to teach children about food literacy and support local producers. Today is International Overdose Awareness Day. It is a day to remember loved ones and community members who we have lost as a result of drug-related overdoses. ...Already in 2020, Fifteen people in Guelph have died by overdose. The opioid and drug crisis remains one of the most critical public health crises in Canada. We also know the COVID-19 outbreak is making the crisis worse. Breaking down the stigma is really important because it's that stigma and fear that can prevent people from getting the support they need.
