Good afternoon everyone we have a few skates coming up next week in the gull lake rink to cap off platinum star as well as some other skates booked up. Sandy who runs a great little both with take out as well asked me to put this out for her. She will be open in the am with breakfast specials as well as lunch specials for those who wish to grab something there while you watch or after there skates. Like everyone during Covid they do there best to work with rules and regulations they have fantastic food and good prices. If you can try and support them they really appreciate it. Thanks see you guys this weekend.

Morning we Hope everyone is doing well. With the latest announcement from sask health and our province last week our hockey season and our small town rinks future looks like it could be a short one. With that we felt we needed to move as fast as possible to get our 17 hours of platinum star skates in as promised. Couple small changes to groups as well as 6 additional dates have been added. I know it’s not ideal no one seen Covid lasting this long I apologize for the inconveni...ence this has caused. We didn’t make good on our dates but we did make good on our hours promised. I would like to say thank you to Tompkins rink as well as gull lake rink board for taking a crazy amount of phone calls and messages from me. Each rink has stepped up and worked with us as well as a huge huge thanks to Gay Dubeau and platinum star for working with us coach Mel and slater for both taking cuts just to come work with our kids. New dates and times are up on our website now gulllakespringice.com. Here is a picture of them also. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we all navigate through these times. Cheers to you guys and here is to a better 2021. See more

Thanks everyone for your patients platinum star skates will resume next Saturday. We were unable to secure the ice times in Gull Lake on Sundays due to unforeseen circumstances, but we will be moving forward with the Tompkins skates starting January 9, 16, 23. Pods have changed slightly to make the allowed 8 kids per pod. If any names have been missed, please contact Brad Keller 672-7012 or email [email protected]. Each pod will have a 2 hour skate at some point in... the 3 day skate times (please see schedule below) We are hoping for an announcement around January 15th for changes allowing us to go back to 30 kids on the ice at a time. There will be an updated schedule available if this happens. Please watch the website and facebook page for these changes. IF there is no change, we will continue our skates after the 23rd in Tompkins. ONLY 1 parent or guardian per skater at this time. Please come dressed if possible due to lack of dressing rooms and physical distancing. Masks are required and please follow all Sask Health Authority rules. This will also be posted on our website. Gulllakespringice.com please share and let everyone you know. See more

Well we have some exciting news. Huge thank you goes out to Gay Dubeau and platinum star as well as gull lake rink board and the crew at tompkins rink. Everyone of these groups agreed to better rates in order for us to run our skates within the Covid guidelines set out to us. With money collected and no real guarantees ahead. We reached out to all these organizations in a last ditch effort to keep our skates alive. There was very little hesitation on all 3 groups they wanted ...to help and keep the kids on the ice. If you see anyone from these groups please express your gratitude to them. So we will be starting skates again January 9th 16th and 23rd in Tompkins and 10-17 and 24th in gull lake. So there will be one group of 8 on with one instructor at a time. We ironing out details and will get them to you Monday night. Groups times and some rule updates. Please share and tell everyone you know. It’s not ideal it’s not what was promised but we feel this is the only way to get our 17 hours of ice time that we promised. Stay safe snd thanks for understanding. See more

Good afternoon everyone after our announcements today it’s clear we will not be skating till at least January 4th. It’s with great regret I’m postponing our skates through The rest of December. We will try and make them up when we can. If by the middle of March we were unable to do all 17 skates as promised we will do a refund of some of the money. Once we go through the costs. Sorry folks hands are tied. Have a happy holidays and stay safe .

Well the announcement came out today I’m sure most have heard and read it by now. We are limited to numbers that just can’t be used by us at this time. So we will shut down platinum star skates for the following weeks November 30th as well as December 8th and 15th. I have added December 21st and 28th ice times as well March 8th to the calendars to make up for the three week ban. I know this isn’t ideal for anyone at this time. We are all trying to do our best everyone I’m sur...e is frustrated. Let’s take these three weeks and get our numbers down and hopefully not have to do this again. All the best stay healthy stay active and let’s move forward with hopes for a better 2021. Please share copy and paste to people who may not follow Facebook I will have this announcement also on my website gulllakespringice.com later this evening. Thank you See more

Good afternoon. Just a quick update We are really happy with everything so far. Everyone has been doing our part to stay safe very limited spectators and kids are compliant with the rules set in place. Our numbers are still increasing with Covid and it’s starting to show it’s face in our small communities around the area. Please be mindful about your health and exposure. If you have been in contact with a positive case or feel I’ll please miss a week and self monitor. We don’...t want to be the one to ruin it for the rest. We secured ice for the first Monday in March to make up for the week we canceled due to weather. We want to continue to run as long as possible as like everyone we are taking it day by day week to week. We have heard nothing but positive feed back and hope to get a full season in. Thanks everyone for your support. We have a great little hockey community in the SW See more
