Last week, the students participated in the anual Terry Fox Run. This was a special one as it was the 40th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope. Although the event was different this year, the students still showed up in their red and white and completed hundreds of laps during their time. Students have also done a good job in spreading awareness and asking for donations. All donations go to the Terry Fox Foundation and goes toward cancer research . There is still time to donate at the link below: https://secure.terryfox.ca/regist/TeamFundraisingPage.aspx

GAD School at BCVSF: Congratulations to the three dedicated Scientists of GAD school who were inspired to showcase their projects in spite of the change of platform for the Regional Science Fair this year to a Virtual Science Fair. They worked hard to modify and adjust their presentations. Simratt Purewal, Grade 8, won the BC Game Developers Innovation Award, for his project- A curse or a Blessing: UV Rays. The other two projects reflecting critical thinking and excellent sci...entific approach were greatly appreciated by the judges. These belonged to Sukhseerit Marwah, Grade 7, The Effects of the amount of Glycerin on starch- based plastics, and Randeep Singh, Grade 8, Greywater and Green plants. I am sure they all learned a lot by participating and showcasing their individual projects. Looking forward to next year where these students persevere and take their projects to the next level along with other budding innovators and scientists in GAD.
