January 2017 - Gurvey & Berry, Commitment to Sustainability Founded in 1974, Gurvey & Berry (G&B) specializes in NHP and API distribution. Our facility in Toronto is GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliant and we are one of the few Canadian distributors with DEL (Drug Establishment License) status. Gurvey & Berry recognizes the importance of sustainability for environmental reasons and for health of the community and customers it serves. As a business G&B operates wit...h integrity when fulfilling our quality and service obligations. We know that it’s extremely hard to build a good reputation and very easy to lose it. Below is a list of sustainability initiatives undertaken by Gurvey in Berry in recent years; 1. Participates in City of Toronto recycling programs for office and commercial waste. 2. Internal program for paper recycling & reduction. 3. Responsible destruction and disposal of rejected or expired material. Partnered with Stericycle ULC. 4. GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) compliant Heath Canada inspected; environmentally sensitive operation with regards to cleaning, temperature control and chemical disposal. 5. Warehouse lighting retrofit in 2010 to reduce energy consumption and costs. 6. Superior roof insulation and blackout blinds (in warehouse) results in minimal (if any) air-conditioning usage in summer months. Temperature range monitored by ADT Alarms. 7. Human APIs are sourced from GMP (ICH Q7) compliant factories that all have clear SOPs on quality and disposal. These factories are inspected by PICs approved bodies including Heath Canada, FDA and EDQM. 8. Gurvey & Berry supports Organic and Non GMO sourcing whenever possible. 9. Gurvey & Berry utilizes train transport when possible to minimize carbon footprint caused through transporting goods. Sustainability is an important part of Gurvey & Berry’s continued commitment to service and quality.
