On December 17th.. The Guys Who Give a $hit held their Winter / Q4 Meeting and we were so pleased to hear some amazing presentations from 3 fantastic PEI Charities which were nominated by our members and selected by a draw. Lennon Recovery House was voted as the big winner taking home $12,000 with Nature Conservancy of Canada (PEI) and Special Olympics PEI taking each $1000 for their great presentations and causes. Big thanks to East Coast Art Party PEI for donating their ven...ue to hold the meeting, and for Molson Coors NB & PEI for donating some beverages for the guys, much appreciated. It was a fantastic evening last night for giving away money. We were so happy to have PEERS Alliance, Big Brothers Big Sisters PEI, and the Autism Society of Prince Edward Island present in front of our group. Congratulations to the winner of the main prize of over $10,500 PEERS Alliance. We also gave $1000 to both runners up so Big Brothers Big Sisters PEI and the Autism Society of Prince Edward Island both don't go away empty handed! A huge thanks to Joey at Molson Coors N...B & PEI for donating some beverages for the boys during our social hour, East Coast Art Party PEI for donating the space and Damon for setting up and bartending for us and of course all the Guys Who Give a $hit who donate $100 every 3 months. 2019 Citizen of the Year Award Winners... the Guys Who Give a $hit!! Jason + Len accepted the award on behalf of all 120+members last night at a reception at Beaconsfield and we couldn't be more proud. We were incredibly moved and so pumped to have 3 amazing charities present last night at our summer meeting. The winner of the $11,000 prize was the Heart & Stroke Foundation of PEI with Children's Wish Foundation of Canada, Prince Edward Island Chapter and The Upper Room Hospitality Ministry Inc. both taking $500 for presenting. We're incredibly lucky to have 123 active members donating $100 every 3 months - we'd love to get 150 for our next meeting in the Fall! We're so excited to be having our Summer meeting tomorrow night where we'll be giving away over $12,000 to a lucky PEI Charity!! If you were interested in the group but not sure how it all works, you are more than welcome to come take it all in (and not vote). The presentations start at 7pm and it's all done by 8pm at the latest - one of the best hours you will spend guaranteed.
