I have a couple of boys who want to play college basketball. This was posted by a College coach. It’s absolutely the truth. Quebec has 9 English basketball programs. 9 x 12 =108 student athletes chosen for their programs. Division 1. Work hard, everyday you should be shooting, running, working hard to get the grades. Watch last chance U on Netflix’s, it’s a perfect example of what it takes to get to the next level.

Hoodies are offered in Yellow, Pink, grey, black, If you want anything customized it is a extra 5 dollars for each item.... The name will be put in the bottom of the hoodie so that it is visible. T- shirts are only available in Grey and Black Joggers Are only available in Grey and Black Sizes are all adult men’s sizes. S to 3 xxl. If parents wish to have a short or hoodie then they may purchase. We are only offering the Ravens logo to basketball players and their families. Thanks See more

It’s with great pride that I speak about one of Golden Valleys most dedicated athlete as well as Team leaders. William Gilbert is graduating this June and he will be greatly missed on the court as well as off the court. His ability to lead is outstanding and his moral integrity is honourable. Unfortunately William has been dealt a bad hand of cards this year and last. We had big plans with him part of our Ravens program this year. In fact he would easily been on the all star... team within our league. Then COVID happened and his hopes of leading our team to a championship were crushed. His days of playing basketball are have come to an end, and I think that it’s extremely important for me to recognize what he has meant to this program. William was one of the youngest players I have coached on a senior team. At 13 he played with the juvenile boys and did quite well. His work ethic and determination made him the player he is today. His behaviour and ability to listen has made him into the young man he is today as well. Coaches love kids like this, they come to practice, they are always prepared, they don’t ask questions, their body language is positive and they stay out of trouble off the court. He has done well academically as well and will be attending school inRouyn next year to become an electrician. He has a strong sense of morality and has been raise by parents who have been very involved in the Ravens program. He loves to talk and there is never a dull moment when Will is around. He is wise for his age. Will is also a big part of our Ravens ultimate program, but due to his age he has had to participate with the Polyvalente the last two years. He was chosen to represent The Abitibi Provincially and is by far one of the best players in Abitibi at his age level. Will is an athlete and I only wish for good things for this kid. I am so very proud to have the honour of seeing him mature and become the person he is today. William you are a great person, great things await for you, don’t change who you are and always keep Your head high. Good luck to you and you know you are always welcome to practice and coach!!!! Hello everyone, This is to advise you that the season or non season of basketball has come to an end. We will hopefully have a season next year but I will not even attempt to make any predictions. I want to thank my major sponsors for another year of giving to the team. Thank you to Martin Tout Terrain that allowed us to have some resemblance to a basketball season. We were the only team in Abitibi to get in the gym as long as we could. Thank you to the players whom practiced... and never once complained about not playing. Thank you who dedicated two practices a week and would of practiced 5 times a week if we had a gym. I look forward to the summer and hopefully some Basketball camps will be functioning. The gym is open for 8 students everyday, I have sent home permission slips and hope that we get the Ravens in there. This has been a very difficult year for all of us but most especially our students. COVID has taken a toll all on many of our youth. I hope that now that it is getting warmer outside that you go and get some fresh air and take care of your mental state. You are the first generation to have to deal With so many social constraints. I want to congratulate you on your perseverance in the classroom as well as on the court. Remember that you represent a strong winning tradition and that we should be back in full force next year. If there is one piece of advise I can give you, is that it is important that you exercise, eat well, and stay out of trouble. Take care of yourselves and hope for a normal year next year. The average schedule of a division 1 basketball player! 6:00 am wake up 7:00 am run 8:30 classes until 3:30 ... 3:30 homework 4:30 practice 7:30 supper Homework Practice 6 times a week, Weights and dry land pre season Just putting it out there the commitment a student athlete takes to play basketball.

Any form of bullying or support for bullying will not be tolerated by myself and our coaching staff at Golden Valley. If you think it is funny to mock others then you are certainly not ready to represent our fine reputable program. We will be discussing this more in detail on Monday. J stacey
