Every so often we like to showcase our fantastic teachers and share a little about them. This month, we're talking with Soo about why she loves teaching and how she spends her time. You're a star Soo. We're lucky to have you! Here's what she had to say: "I'm a Korean-born Canadian who loves yoga, hiking, biking, snowboarding...(I love the outdoors!). I've taught all over the world, and have been teaching at GV Victoria for 10 years. The best part about teaching is help...ing learners not only to learn the English language and the Canadian culture but also to look after their health and well-being while abroad. I enjoy building special connections and bonds with truly amazing learners from all around the world. My approach to teaching is first to help each one of my students to feel comfortable, at ease, be open to making new friends and new experiences, and make sure about their own health while studying abroad. As I mentioned earlier, my students' well-being matters a great deal to me as I believe and know without one's health, s/he can hardly be successful in this long, challenging process of acquiring another language. I try my best to explain things in the easiest and most clear way possible for my students to understand so that they can start to use newly learned grammar, vocabulary, and so on right away and actually and hopefully improve their English as soon as possible.
