A friend of mine, Kate, was one of Leo Mol and his wifes goddaughters. After Leo and his wife passed away my friend inherited some of his artwork. I asked if I could borrow some of his drawings to use for a painting. It was awesome to be able to study his work. Here is one of his sketches that I painted. - Michele Campbell Nude Yoga

I have always been interested in art. As far as I can remember I was cutting up fabric for my Grandmothers piece quilts and sewing them together. I grew up on the prairie, where winters were long so I would sew my summer wardrobe with fabric from catalog orders. My husband bought me a set of paints for a Christmas gift, easel and all, and I started painting, and have never stopped. I love painting, I paint every day! I am self-taught, but have taken many courses from differen...t artists, and I love to experiment with different styles and colours and techniques. You could say, I am a passionate painter. Since moving to Selkirk from British Columbia in 1999, I have been very involved as a volunteer with the Gwen Fox Galley, and lve being a part of the community in Selkirk. Its a wonderful place to live. Painting by Bev Hart Bev Hart is one of four artists who will be displaying works at the Gwen Fox Gallery in July.

As a youngster in the Netherlands and in Canada from her early teens on, Mia always found joy in art. Changing careers from 25 years of teaching and parenting to fine art has allowed Mia time to channel her creative energy to painting. Although talent for drawing and art were beneficial to her student, she welcomed the opportunity to develop as an artist. Mia attended art classes, workshops and benefits with other Art Club members. Her trips abroad, travel through North Ameri...ca and the beautiful lake and forest environment of her home fueled her passion for painting. It inspired her to draw and paint in diverse subject areas including birds, flowers, pets, horses, wild animals, people still life, buildings and landscapes. Mia was encouraged at the onset when the provincial government bought one of her paintings at her first juried art show. Her work is now represented through North America in private collections, galleries and gift shops. Painting on slate by Mia Fournier

Accessible only by boat, the south shore of Lake Winnipeg gathers the evidence of carelessness. Plastic bottles, flip flops, ruined docks, nets, twine--it all ends up on the shore. One hot summer day while walking this fine sand beach, a large piece of driftwood spoke to me of the effects of deleterious human activity. I was attracted by the smooth bone-like wood and inspired to capture the voices I heard. - Gayle Halliwell "Beached", acrylic, 36" x 36" Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/studio410.ca/

I was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba. I am passionate about my art, in love with my family. I enjoy working in all forms of art; I am dedicated to learning as I create. For an artist, self-isolation is not a punishment but an opportunity to be more creative. I have been using this time away from teaching to learn new techniques, it has also allowed me the joy to play. The clown faces are a 3D work using acrylic with mixed medium. Its title is: "Marti Gras". - Sandra Artimowich www.fineartamerica.com

Title: was Earth Mother, was Wisdom, Serenity... 'Knowing' fits best. Explanation below. It has been hard to articulate a word for her. I say 'her' because she really is alive to me. Other than Her, I've never, to this day, painted anything with blank untouched white canvas as part of the painting. She just happened. I painted her, without the leaves, rather fast in a moment of an emotional feeling.... Not long after, I did not know what else should be added - left brain talking. So, I just let go and voila!, complete. Most of my artwork is created in this way. Knowing... when everything taught and acquired falls away, if even for a nanosecond, the human created reality, the learned structure, the round and the square pegs and their holes, all the distractions, conditions, programming, and so forth... fall away for just that one piece of immeasurable time - for time is an illusion - and what is left is the simple Truth. Not articulated, but known/recognized/felt . . . that is Wisdom. It's that precise moment that we 'know' with every particle of our being. That is what she is to me. Knowing - By Peggy Kasuba Peggy Kasuba will be one of four artists with works in the July exhibit at the Gwen Fox Gallery - opening again on June 30!

Hi Im Janice Charko and I show my work at Flights of Fibre. I have been felting for 11 years and have moved through so many levels and stages. But a love of colour has stayed consistent I force myself to make things in earth tones for those who like them. I struggle not to use purples, blues and yellows all the time. I work in a beautiful sunroom at my waterfront cottage/home on Lac du Bonnet where I can see nature on 3 sides all around me. The light and the atmospher...e make it without question My Happy Place!. This month I am playing with making felted jewelry but I see a new hat shape and many felted collars in my head that have yet to be created! My stash may exceed my ambition a bit but Ill get to it all eventually! This, my first felted necklace, is as light as a feather! www.FlightsofFibre.com https://www.facebook.com/FlightsofFibre/

I was born and raised in Carman, Manitoba and in 2010 I moved to Cambridge Bay, Nunavut approximately 200 miles north of the Arctic Circle. In 2019 I returned to my home province and now call the Interlake my home. My passion started in high school when my graphic arts teacher introduced me to the world of photography. My love of nature and the outdoors are deeply embedded in my soul and for me photography has the power to bring people into the moment I experienced. - Denise ...LeBleu Denise LeBleu Images Selkirk, MB Find me on: https://fineartamerica.com/profiles/denise-lebleu https://www.instagram.com/denise_lebleu_images https://www.facebook.com/deniselebleuimages
