Cannot stress how beneficial art-making is to individuals and communities!

Landscape! 3-day workshop last week with Art Cunanan at the beautiful Momiji creative space. Art's style is fast and loose. Mine, not so much so I thought this might help! So the workshop: we all watched as Art did a demo/painting for 1.5 hours and then he says "okay now you; paint this." Attempting to execute someone else's painting was sort of... exhausting! Things got better once I decided to approach as play rather than the work of replication! Especially since my work was no where close to what he does! Result - two colour-additions to my palette.6 paintings over 3-days, but only one of mine worth sharing..

My Sketchbook Project... Volume 14...Process video # 2. Forgot to mention - My primary theme is #Thisonething but I also included several others from their options within this context. Be sure to check out the entire book later because it's all one thought leads to another for me and the whole book is not published here, of course. I approach the process organically, which means I skip from idea to idea and circle back again. Maybe hard to see how develop for any linear thinkers out there! By the way... many of the collages are digital manipulations of my own photos. So much fun. Can hardly wait to start my next one!

Two part video! My #sketchbookproject is finished and into the mail it goes. Finished on time but needed to dry more. Good thing for a two week extension due to shipping delays when I'd ordered. Yay! I never did post #sbpprocess while I was making it... so here are some sneak peeks of the work in progress. Sure hope the "Arts on Prescription" concept, which originated in the UK gathers momentum here. Montreal - Concordia in particular has a tremendous program for training art therapy, with placements in Art Hives in the community. Check out Janis Timms-Bottos and the whole #arthives movement...
