A Message from A/Chief Robert Walsh: I want to acknowledge the tremendous dedication and hard work of CBRPS members and staff this past weekend, during a series... of very challenging events. It is because of their quick response and collective efforts that we were able to resolve the situation before any further impacts to public safety, and I am incredibly proud of the service and commitment they continually provide to our community. This includes CBRM dispatch operators, whose professionalism and coordination throughout the entire incident was a critical piece to our successful response, as well as the support and assistance we received from EHS and medical staff at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital. We thank our policing partners at the RCMP for remaining at the ready on standby when we contacted them, as well as for on-the ground assistance managing traffic control. And we thank YOU, the public, for your cooperation while we were actively working in your communities, and for your continued assistance to make sure we have all the information we need for our investigation. We are proud to serve and protect the community with you, and for you.
