GYM41 on CTV news regarding current COVID restrictions.
As of Monday, November 23, 2020 the region of Waterloo will be in RED COVID RESTRICTIONS. As a result, there are some mandated changes as to how GYM41 is allowed to conduct business. The following is a comprehensive list of all the up to date procedures we must follow. Self Screening 1. All members and clients must complete a COVID self screening assessment before entering the building each day. - There is a sheet posted on the glass of the main door into our building with a... QR (a black square image) that you scan with your cell phone camera - you don't take a picture of it. - This should trigger a link on the screen of your cell phone to the online self assessment https://covid-19.ontario.ca/self-assessment/. - Once you complete this on your cell phone choose the option to save it and then email it to [email protected] from your cell phone. Contact Tracing 2. Contact tracing for all members via the online workout sign up on our webpage at www.gym41.ca. Capacity 3. Maximum of 10 people (who do not work here) on the floor at any given time. (Down from 50 people.) Personal Protective Equipment 4. Trainers must have masks and now the addition of eye protection on while training clients. Distancing 5. 3 meter distancing (increased from 2 meters) Cleaning and Disinfecting 6. Daily and weekly Cleaning and disinfecting. Thank you for compliance throughout these difficult times.
Due to the regions new colour coded stages covid restrictions we have had to shut down three of the six squat racks last week as we were in yellow. This coming Monday November 16 the region has declared we are in the next stage of orange. This comes with several new restrictions and procedures that we will follow in hopes to ride out this second wave without being closed down completely. We appreciate you compliance and patience. ... Here is a copy of the link that outlines the colour coded stages. https://www.ontario.ca/covid19

Donny was apart of the Pendlay team over 10 years ago and was on the USA National team. Great piece for weightlifters on hand care that helped me a lot.
Bar path explained.
Very good advice on technique and how to approach training. Well said Dave Earle. "Technique work is never over. Almost every beginner says some version of I just need a couple of classes to get the technique down and I should be good!. I thought this too - I just needed to ‘know the technique’ and I’d be crushing everyone. 10+ years later I’m still working on the same few cues, just in smaller proportions than before... and so is every athlete at the top of the sport. There‘s always a new cue out there waiting to change your perspective on how to move the barbell. View technique as a continuum from ‘inefficient and inconsistent’ to ‘efficient and consistent’. If you want a quantitative value, use your max competition lifts as a percentage of your max squats. The higher the better." - Dave Earle
