We kept walking by this Model everyday and realized that we never did show the car fully assembled with the stand we designed. This is a design from #danielnorees called the OpenRC Formula 1. These cars can be built into remote control cars or kept as a 3D printed model. We decided that this would be kept as a model. This is a great way to showcase what you can do with 3D Printing. Down the road we will get our hands on some Ninjaflex filament and print ourselves some tire...s, but for now it looks great on the mantel sitting on its stand. Have an idea in mind? Feel free to contact us and we would love to discuss it with you. #3dprinting #formula1

The printer has been buzzing a lot lately producing these pipe sleeves used to help make manufacturing a lot simpler. The sleeves are a great guide to get an exact angled cut or notches on pipe/tubing. This allows the manufacturing process to be more efficient, thus cutting down on wasted time and material. We can reproduce these for almost and size pipe/tubing that you need. If you look close enough you can also see that we can integrate the degree of angle or anything else you may need. We look forward to helping you on your next project. #manufacturing #3dprinting

Its a bird, its a plane, its.....A Drone! Well...not quite, but the printer is buzzing away, nearly finishing off this door as an upgrade to the goggles that are used when Drone Pilots fly. These goggles allow the drone pilot to view a live video feed from a camera mounted on the leading edge of the drone. We recently completed this order which consisted of 4 doors in total and had it shipped off to the United States! #LaforgeFPV Thanks to Anthony Kwon for this design. #Drones #3dprinting

Back in May we got an opportunity to help a fellow out from Port Hardy, BC. He was in need of a new spindle mount for his CNC Router and we were able to help by 3D printing a design he acquired for his upgrade. Great to see it up and running! We have to thank file repositories such as #pinshape & #Thingiverse that give folks a chance to upgrade their equipment and print new parts. Have you found a design or part from Pinshape or Thingiverse that you need printed? We can tackle that. Have a look at the links below and feel free to contact us. #cnc #3dprinting #pinshape #thingiverse http://www.pinshape.com http://www.thingiverse.com

Yet again our Educational Brake Caliper comes through. This time we have recently had it accepted to Thingiverses Educational Section of their website for students grades 8 through 12. This is a great honour and we are proud that it has done so well up to this point. This adds to the list of achievements that the Caliper has to date. It has been featured on Thingiverse in April 2016. Also, featured on pinshape and it is a IC3D Printers Print Contest Winner. This only motivates us for the next step. Like our page and feel free to share to stay tuned and see what we do next.

Here at H2 Fabrications we not only do 3D printing, we also design. For our latest project, we were approached with a joint venture to design a Utility trailer for a Dual Sport Motorcycle. We have seen the current options on the market and felt that we could design our own with our H2 Fabrications touch. We started off with a basic CAD design to start the process. We then tweaked and adjusted the design to fit end requirements. The next step was to take the design and start a... working prototype that could then be mounted to a bike for testing. We had a variety of material to choose from but for this we decided to use aluminum. The total weight of the trailer is currently 20-25lbs. When assemble correctly aluminum is very strong and light weight. Last thing anyone needs is a lead weight hanging off the back of their bike. If you like what you see, please share and like our page. Have a project in mind? Let us help you take that idea and shape it into something you can hold. We would love to talk to you about your future projects.

The flexibility of 3D printing can be quite amazing at times. We were recently contacted by a customer that was having a dilemma with a new deck gate which was to narrow for the opening. The new gate was purchased and soon after they realized it was approx 1" out for it to be centered in the opening. We began a design that would not only space the gate appropriately between the deck railings, but also provide equal or greater support than what the original gate hinges would ...give. A wrap around style hinge/spacer was designed that added greater strength for the hinges. The upper hinge spacer was re-worked slightly, so it would clear the near by railing. We also went ahead and made a custom spacer for the latch area of the gate. With the hinge post being out of alignment with the latch area, we had to produce a latch spacer with a subtle angle to it (that was just off of 90 deg) to allow the gate to be squared up to the opening. The entire latch and mechanism was 3D printed to lessen the wear and tear. The original latch was metal on metal and would have had major wear issues. The possibilities really are endless! Your imagination can be one of the limiting factors of 3D Printing. We would love to speak with you and work with you on your next project. Contact us to discuss how we can help you.

People are always curious about what kind of detail you can get with 3D Printing. We decided to see what could be done. For our latest print a .2mm nozzle was used on the printer. This allowed us to go with a smaller print than normal and still keep a high detail. The Maple Leaf charm coin is dime sized. Something this small and detailed would make a great charm for a bracelet or necklace.... If you have an idea you would like us to print please feel free to message us and we will be happy to help.

Just in time for Mothers Day! Weve printed 5 of these stunning roses done in Taulman3Ds T-Glass filament. What a stunning selection of filaments as can be seen in the photos. We like filaments that can produce! A lot of time and money is lost when you are hours into a print and have a failure due to filaments. With the Taulman3D T-Glass line I was able to dial in the settings needed for these roses and only run 1 test through to ensure they came out perfect! Not only do t...hey look good they are also strong. Taulman3D has numerous other filament that are outstanding, while we havent used all of the filaments offered there, we absolutely intent to in the near future. If you are at all interested in these roses feel free to contact H2F. Thank you. Printed on a LulzBot Mini Design By: 3DPrinterSuperstore

MeltInk recently posted on pinshapes website looking for some filament testers for their amazing products. We decided to help them out and at the same time see what Meltink has to offer. Meltink has a Grey PLA that we thought would look amazing. Our next thing was to decide what to use at a model for this print. We have used the Moai Head before and decided for this project it would be a great model. It has the perfect balance of detail, but also allows us to see what kind ...of overhangs we can get. We are very very happy with the results. The detail we were able to get was amazing. The Grey color looks awesome and the color is consistent throughout the print. We had no issue printing with this filament. We are looking forward to using more of Meltinks filaments and cant wait to pass this quality product onto our customers. Look at what Meltink has to offer below. Also, if you are interested in the Moai Head see the link below. Meltink - https://goo.gl/ndO3Qw Moai Head - https://goo.gl/MH4XnF

How small can we go? That is the question and here is the answer. We found the 3D Hubs Marvin test print STL file on Thingiverse and the Wizard Face came from a customer. The next thing to do was see how small we could go with our prints only using a 0.5mm nozzle and playing with layer heights, shell thicknesses, print orientation and infill percent. We just had some Light Blue 2.85mm PLA filament leftover from a past job and decided to see what we could do.

We are really proud to announce that our 3D Printed Educational Brake Caliper has just taken 1st Place in the Pinshape IC3D Printers Contest. https://goo.gl/mUE4c9 When we believe in good software we want to share it! Taking top prize gave us a license to Simplify3D, but because we already have S3D, and swear by it, we have donated it back to allow someone else to enjoy the software. pinshape has added S3D into the Filaments.ca Giveaway contest where you now have the opportunity to get 1of 2 licenses for S3D. Check out the contest that is running until March 31, 2016 https://pinshape.com/contests/filamentsca-giveaway

3D Printing really is endless with what you can print. Port Alice is located on the Northwest Tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. The Terrain and the Scenery is picturesque and this is just a wonderful place to visit and experience. We decided to try something a little outside of the box. We had heard that there was a was to 3D Print Topographical maps. Naturally this was very intriguing and we set out to test this idea. Port Alice was the perfect place to tr...y. There is a great combination of water, islands and the mountains that surround the Village. We kept it simple and just used some PLA Filament that we had lying around. Later we will try to use model paints and maybe an Airbrush setup to paint the print as close as possible to the Topographical Map. At the very bottom of the Map you can see Port Alice. Just above the Village there are two small islands and they are the Frigon Islands. At the very top of the map is Neroutsos Inlet. If you look just above the mid-point of the photo you can see the Old Pulp Mill and just above that a Log Sort. This Print turned out better than we expect. The next step is to try more prints and see how these turn out. If you like the print and would like to see what else we are up to click Like on our page and feel free to share this with everyone you know. Follow us on Twitter as well @h2fabrications

BnK has a great new filament called PUREMENT. PUREMENT is the first Anti-Microbial Filament on the Market. This filament is a PLA filament that will allow us to 3D print anything where the spread of harmful Germs and Bacteria are a concern. The antibacterial material in PUREMENT has been certified by the SIAA (Society of Industrial Technology for Antimicrobial Articles), it is also antimicrobial registered by FDA who have verified that it is an eco-friendly product. The possi...bilities really are endless with this Filament. This allows us to create designs for the Kitchen, Bathroom or anything that may be Child oriented. Thanks to BnK our minds are running wild with ideas and excitement over this product. We cant wait to get our hands on a roll and give PUREMENT a try.

It has been a while since we posted our teaser photo of the Brake Caliper. No one likes to be teased for that long, so here it is. Here at H2 Fabrications we have always had a love for anything motorsports. We decided one day that we wanted to make something motorsport related and at the same time take the opportunity to make it educational. We tossed around ideas until we came up with our Educational Brake Caliper. We werent to worried about overall strength, so we decided... to go with PLA over any other filament. The next step was to figure out how we could have the caliper stay together, but at the same time it needed to be pulled apart to show the inner workings. We found some 1/4" Diameter by 1/16" Thick Neodymium magnets that perfectly suited our needs. The next step was to make sure that all the parts were clearly defined. The best way to do this was by using different color filaments. Now we have bright and vibrant print that shows all the pieces of a Brake Caliper. The purpose of the Brake Caliper was to be educational as well. We spent sometime coming up with a Document that includes a breakdown/explanation of the parts and is a great tool for teaching what a Brake Caliper is. The document is available through Pinshape at the link below. We also wanted this Caliper to be printable by anyone with a 3D Printer, so we have released this on Thingiverse as well (link below). Just to add one more educational aspect, we also spent time putting together a video that shows the break down and rebuild of the Caliper. The video is a great tool to use for a Classroom or just to help yourself understand the parts of a Brake Caliper. Pinshape - https://goo.gl/sFEFav Thingiverse - http://goo.gl/EPH8k9 Youtube - https://goo.gl/P6RXVe If you enjoyed this article, please feel free to like our page and share this post. Want one of these for yourself; but dont have a 3D Printer; contact us and we would love to talk to you about price, color options, sizing and quantity.

Here is a recent project completed!. We were contacted by Michael with a request to print off a few extruder body parts for him so that he can get his printer back up and running! As you can see in the final photo, the extruder body houses the hot end of the printer. The hot end is the section that melts and deposits the plastic onto the build plate creating the end product. It is one of the most important pieces to a 3D printer. The product was completed and sent out and we ...received a thank you back from Michael, "Thank you! The parts came out VERY nice." Cheers,
