This little man arrived a week early, resulting in a slightly earlier start to my short maternity leave. Thanks to everyone for the continued love, kind words and support. See you in a couple of months! Planning to be back part-time, mid January/early February.
Two more weeks to get your appointment booked! Short maternity leave from November 15th-January 18th or February 1st. Friday November 6th & Saturday the 14th are currently fully booked. Limited availability on November the 7th, 9th and 11th.
Hats off to the 4L jug of sanitizer - very thankful for you this year Also very thankful for my clients, old and new! I’m grateful to still be open, despite the new changes for the next few weeks. No services without a mask allowed Happy Thanksgiving ... Closed today - Monday October 12 See more
Employee of the month goes to my aging pooch for his incredible social distancing skills Book now! Only 6 weeks left (possibly less?) to see me before I take a short maternity leave Lastly, the door will now be locked when I’m with a client. If you arrive early, please ring the doorbell and I’ll let you in asap
Sometimes growing a human is exhausting and requires a tiny nap while you get prepared for your wax or facial 3 months to go! Being self-employed makes decisions regarding a maternity leave tricky. The plan Due November 16th, planning to work my last day November 15th. My hours will be reduced if needed before then. Off for 4-6 weeks with a potential part time return for the week before Christmas. In the new year, working from 2pm-8pm M-F and shorter weekend hours ... Subject to change, lots of unknowns and exciting adventures ahead See more
The face I make when everyone keeps telling me how tired I look! Still loving every minute of being back Is it too soon to talk about summer holidays?! I’ll be taking 2 days off for Canada day this year - half day on the 30th, full day July 1st and half day on the 2nd. Otherwise - no vacay plans Please note: the Sunday hours are very temporary, once I feel caught up I’ll be taking my Sundays back
I saw the sign...
The snooze fest is over I’ve been waiting for a reopening date for weeks and to say I’m prepared is an understatement! The newsletter went out, I’ve spent over 12 hours getting back to everyone and the emails and texts are still coming in ... LOVE the amount of support I’m seeing. Some aren’t ready or feeling safe yet and that’s completely ok - I’m here when you are. For those that have inquired/booked - thank you for the kind words and patience. I will be OPEN this Friday, June 12th and the week is already (other than a spot or two) fully booked! Once Friday rolls around, I won’t be too prompt with replies - hang tight, I will get back to you See more
Payment: Not much changing here.. I’ll still be accepting cash, and you’ll still have to remember your PIN! Single-use popsicle sticks will be handed to you with tiny tongs to punch in numbers . . . credit goes to my mother-in-law for sharing her Northern Ontario payment experience
WHEN I’m able to open again, here are the new hours. Please note that I do not know when this will happen, but you WILL be notified!! All reopening posts are guidelines so that you’re prepared when I’m given the green light
TWO guidelines for you on this sunny Thursday Let’s talk about talking 1. I’m going to STRONGLY discourage the use of cell phones during your new normal visits. Put it away before you enter, put on your mask and come right in (remember to turn left and go straight to the bathroom to wash your hands!). Try to avoid taking it out while you’re here ... 2. At least for your first visit, can we NOT talk about covid?! We hear about it constantly and it would be nice to chat about future goals and summer plans, even though they may have drastically changed. Bring me some happy stories!! See more
Back to the 60s/70s with plastic covered furniture! Sanitizable between manicure clients. Happy that the new normal doesn’t mean completely hiding the pretty To add to my mandatory face mask post the other day, cloth masks are completely acceptable... there’s no need to go out of your way to find a surgical/N95 mask. If you need help finding a cloth mask, please reach out and I’ll guide you in the right direction More guidelines coming at ya:... The bathroom is located IMMEDIATELY to the left once you enter. Please wash your hands for 20 seconds upon arrival See more
Last year, Victoria Day weekend (and the great glebe garage sale) made parking impossible around here. I swore I was going to close for those weekends in 2020 - by choice, not because I can predict global pandemics . . . I guess slightly widening the driveway and getting new pretty steps could have waited another year ... #keepingtheeconomygoing #supportsmallbusiness
WHEN given the go-ahead to open again - regardless of Ontario’s guidelines - you will be required to have a mask on prior to entering the shop, and must leave it on for the entirety of your service(s). I realize this conflicts with facials and some waxing.. we’ll figure that out later. More guidelines to come. Stay healthy! ... #Repost @woodyandholly with @get_repost Public Service Announcement: How to wear a mask! See more
How can something be so beautiful but so sad at the same time? Hope everyone is getting through the pain, anxiety, unknowns and stresses of life during this pandemic. Stay safe & healthy Just a reminder that the shop IS closed until public health officials allow non-essential businesses to re-open. NO EXCEPTIONS.
COVID-19 update I’ve reached out to clients over the last few days to reschedule/postpone. Taking it one week at a time. Social distancing cannot be achieved if I’m waxing your eyebrows, or doing your pedicure. Every single service that I offer requires me to be touching you.... Everyone: stay home, if possible. Please don’t continue to think that your wax is a life-or-death, end of the world situation. Thank you to my clients, friends and family that have checked in, purchased gift cards, rescheduled, understand. To those that will remain hairy until I re-open, instead of finding someone who’s currently open, THANK YOU- THANK YOU - THANK YOU If you need a product (which will be sanitized) I can place it in my mailbox. If you would like to purchase a gift card for a future appointment, or friend - I can also leave that in the mailbox, mail it out to you, or simply know that I have it documented here. Stay safe and healthy, Shanna
This will be you, if you cancel during the COVID-19 outbreak. In all seriousness though, I am alive and well. I tried to take a 2-month break from social media, but business is open as usual. Please cancel if you’re feeling ill or have been travelling/near those that have travelled in the last 2 weeks.... Like everyone else, sanitation practices have been heightened. Small businesses are going to suffer HUGELY during this time. Please come in if you’re needing a wax and have been a total hermit like me all winter long!
