MEET THE TEAM [4/7] There’s a lot I’m excited to bring forward to this hackathon. I think the team has great ideas and strategies for bringing forward awesome events, workshops and technologies. On the other hand, I wanted to focus more on the theme. Sustainability is a great deal for our earth, for companies worldwide and for me. So, I put my focus on making sure all those little things like no plastic straws!, disposable cutlery and our mission statements... align with the values we want to see in our hackathon, and also in our industry. MEET THE TEAM [1/7] "I love thinking about the design of things: how they were created, who they were created for, and how they impact and affect our lives. As I’ve grown more aware of my own unsustainable practices/purchases (whether that be work/life balance, diet, fast fashion etc.), I’ve started to realize that often times the best designed products or services are also often the most sustainable.... This is clearly no accident: companies who prioritize creating sustainably sourced products are also often those who relentlessly ask for feedback on how they can create better products for their users. I believe that if we challenge ourselves to try and understand how our hacks will affect people/society/the earth, they will not only result in being more sustainable, but also better designed.
