A few days of much needed rain coming. A decision on opening day will be made April 14th after an assessment of how well the grounds dealt with the rainfall. In the meantime, the Ontario Framework has resulted in the need to post reminders at the club regarding playing protocols. Much will be the same as last year, and a reminder on how things evolved in 2020.... The board of directors is searching for a safe means of opening the portable washroom on the course. Hope to have some more news as the month progresses.

In light of feedback on the insurance issue posted earlier on our account, the posts are being deleted and our process going forward is being reviewed.

While the full effects of COVID on the 2021 golf season are unclear, Haileybury Golf Club continues with its operation by securing appropriate business adjustments. HGC Board of Directors is pleased to announce that Gisele's Catering has been engaged for the 2021 season. Gisele has a long history of providing great food and service at events throughout Timiskaming, and HGC is happy to have her returning to the club in its 100th Year.

Patiently waiting for the course to get a little drier and getting the itch to play. Want to get some messages out to members and guests alike ... Starting with power carts, as with last year, one rider per cart with the exception of Family or bubble members. Power Cart operators must keep to cart paths, stay out of gullies, and maintain a minimum 10 m from greens. ... Flagged carts are the only exception.

Haileybury Golf Club will be trying a new appointment manager for tee-times. Under COVID restrictions, tee times must be reserved. Warmer temperatures and less snowfall means more odd jobs can be completed around the club house. D. Lacroix provided support to Ontario Door Service installers Steve and Steve Jr Agoston as they replaced the garage door access under the Golf Shop. Even in the off-season, things need to get done at HGC. On Thursday, Denis Lacroix and John West completed the re-fit of the entrance and railing on the southwest side of the clubhouse. HGC members and executive wish to pass along their appreciation to Board Longyear for designing and manufacturing the new railing for the entrance, and a big thank you to Robert Pepin for the awesome paint job.

Look for our email signup on our Facebook page and register to be on our list. Greens Committee wishes to advise that the snow mould applicaton has been applied to the greens to end the season.
