Product Shot for @denise.violette [2020] 'Grieving Dolls' & 'Dark Art' made from mix media. Primarily ceramic & textile. Shot for Issue 11 of CreatedHere Magazine, 'Psyche.' @createdheremag Visual art can be a special tool for exploring concepts that are abstract, non-linear, or difficult to explain in words. It does so by helping us to think visually, connect unlikely ideas, and make leaps of understanding. As such, art is a powerful tool for exploring the mind, whether con...sciousness, the sense of self, subconscious yearnings, mental health or the structure of the brain. "My art is my outlet, a way to de-stress from everyday life. The precious moments I spend in my studio are the moments when I can be myself. It is when I let my true emotions surface. It has permitted expression without language. I have had difficult periods in my life, but my art has helped me get through them. I believe in the concept of art as a therapy." - Denise Violetta Michaud, Artist, Instructor, and founding member of @acanthusgallery

This is the 5th issue of CreatedHere Magazine that I've had the pleasure of helping create. My image of Jacqueline Bourque's stitchwork (below) was chosen as the cover image for Issue 13 - Working Art. This is my 2nd cover image. I'm so excited for this issue!

I love working with @olka.artcollective 2/4 artists shown here. The @createdheremag team and I are helping Olka Art out pro bono because these artists have the strongest work ethic we've ever seen. The determination they exhibit is inspiring and their skills are truly flawless... Olka Art Collective is composed of 4 artist from Iran. Their work is quite contemporary and incorporates cultural symbolism, traditional motifs, and personal experiences. In my opinion, one of the ...coolest and most unique things about this collective is that they actually work collectively. They take turns working on ONE artwork, trusting in one another to take control as they see fit. I can barely trust the mailman...... All 4 of them have huge hearts, big dreams and an enormous passion for what they do. I'm truly grateful to have made such great friends. Their energy is contagious! Show these talented artists some love by following their journey @olka.artcollective and leaving a comment on their page if you're diggin' their work A little share goes a long way!

I'm a firm believer that when one door closes behind you, another one will open as long as you stay focused on what matters most; gratitude No matter how much you didn't want to close that door behind you and no matter how much you loved that door you built from scratch, there will be another door more suited for you, waiting to open up to show you the bigger picture the stars have already written for you long ago. So here's to my future filled with new learning opportunit...ies, new connections and most of here's to personal growth! Craig, Allison, Ian & I on assignment for @createdheremag Thank you for the photos, Ian! . . . #DiscoverNB #ExploreNB #DestinationNB #SaintJohn #NewBrunswick #CreatedHereNB @ Irving Nature Park See more
