WHEN HAIR NEEDS A LITTLE LOVE A simple test anyone can do at home to tell if they need hair reconstruction! Hair that lacks nutrients can appear rough and dull.... These symptoms aren't hard to spot but most people don't look at their hair that closely. If they did, they might realize their hair isn't as healthy as it could be. Heres a "strange but true" test that can tell you in 30 seconds if your hair is up to par. All you need is a glass of water and 30 seconds. Very carefully, pull out a hair as close to the scalp as possible. Now place it in the bowl of water. Strong, healthy hair should float, while unhealthy hair will sink to the bottom. Sound weird? Maybe. But it's true. Your hair has split cuticles (which are what makes it look dull and lifeless). When placed in water, the cuticles will act like a sponge and add weight to the hair, causing it to sink. True story Like dude, if I could somehow create the perfect light blonde hair color in less than an hour, that would change everything.... maybe in 2045 well have that figured out? Reality is, it takes up to 50 Minutes for hair to lift to the shade you want and love. Thats an entire hour of your appointment that youre just hanging out waiting! Trust me though, its worth taking small little baby sections, foiling your head til it gets heavy and letting it sit for the full amount of time. All of that prevents the hair from being lifted to a dark yellow, orange or lifting to uneven tones that that cant be fixed with a quick toner or purple shampoo Gotta let it sit bb!! If you have to do a clipper cut at home. Pro tip: don’t dead stop the clippers. Hard lines are more difficult to blend. Guide the clippers up directing them out and away from the scalp as you get to the rounding. This will create a softer line and smoother transition to blend.
