Let’s talk about going from blonde ~> brunette. As we are getting closer to fall I have a lot of blonde babes wanting to colour their hair brunette! This isn’t always as simple as putting a dark colour over your blonde hair because blonde hair is very porous and needs something to grab onto so that the brunette colour is rich and vibrant. To reach this brunette colour in one session I has to do a precolor on my clients blonde hair with a warm pigmented colour and let that ...process for 25 minutes. From there I washed her hair and applied a toner at the sink. Then we had to blow dry her hair completely and apply the desired brunette colour and let that process for 35-40 minutes. Even though her hair is gorgeous and rich after only one session, my client fully understood that she will need to come see me again in 5 weeks to get a full colour again for it to stick long term as her hair was white blonde in some areas. (Meaning very porous) This is considered a colour correction! This colour took approximately 3.5 hours!
