And, as gorgeous as her hair was, we decided on donating 12 inches of her hair to @angelhair4kids . This is one Canadian company I recommend when we have donors in our chair because it goes straight to sick kids in Canada! ... . It takes between 10 and 12 donated ponytails and $2,000 to make one hair prosthesis so it is pretty special when we get the chance to donate. . Even if you do not have the hair to donate, you can donate money to their program to help fund a hair prosthesis for one sick kid. There are lots of other organizations that provide these services of course, but we both felt that this particular one was very special. . Ok, I know that I've been quiet on here and I know that some of you have noticed. Mostly because the ones that have, have messaged me and I am so very appreciative about you all thinking of me. For those that do not know, As of February 1st, I have given up my full time chair in Leduc. This pandemic has easily been the most financially crippling, mentally exhausting experience I have been through. I had taken some time to step back and really think about what the hell I want.... I thought what I wanted was to find another career that was much more stable, gave me a steady income to get back onto the path that I needed to be on and I was most definitely wrong. I know that my creative mind needs to be fueled by deep conversations with my guests. I know that I am a perfectionist who feeds off of a challenge. I have never felt so broken hearted over leaving a part of me that has grown with me over the last 8.5 years. So I decided to not give up on my dream, I threw that idea out the window and moved along! Over the last 2 months, I moved in with my boyfriend, which we ultimately were planning months ago, we were waiting on the right time. If you know me well enough, my life has completely revolved around my career the last few years. With this pandemic hitting a heavy reset button, I realized that I needed my family, my friends & my love more than anything. So with the last lock down I decided it was time to move closer to home. Now that I have the sad part over, I hope that you all will be happy to hear that I'll still be on your feed slinging color & bleach making people feel beautiful. I won't be in Leduc full time anymore but I will be up on the odd weekend keeping my regular guests happy. With this move, and me finding my new direction I will be taking an opportunity I couldn't turn down at @blendhairstudio in Red Deer! You'll see some changes happening, and I hope you will be as excited as I am and for my #yeg followers, I hope you will still see my new journey. A lot of you may own a small business and understand how devastating it is to hear the words "shut down" again. Some of you may not own a business but understand that this affects us all. Right now all we know is that this will end one day, we will survive this pandemic and we won't give up on our dreams. I have extended my hours to fit in more appointments this week because we will be shut down for hopefully only 4 weeks. I encourage anyone who is considering to book now, sh...op at your local stores, eat locally and order food from the restaurants and not 3rd party delivery services as they take 15%-30% of the restaurants revenue. I do not post about my makeup services but I am going to start. Makeup has been a passion of mine for years.
