As I’m sure you all know by now, I am not returning to work until June 2021 as I am due to have my baby anytime now. But the salon will be opening up and my lovely co workers will be ready to take over for me until I can get back to work. Please be patient with them as they figure out all the new changes. Stay safe everyone, and I hope to see you all when I am able to come back to work

ANNOUNCEMENT! Many of you have already been contacted by myself or the salon, and I will continue to reach out to some of you personally over the next few days. But, for everyone else wondering what is happening.. I have recently been having some complications with my pregnancy. Baby and I are doing fine, however I have been ordered by my doctors to majorly SLOW DOWN.. which unfortunately, means taking the next few months to stay home and rest to ensure our baby boy doesn’t... make an early appearance. I have been medically put out of work until after our baby is born effective immediately. For those of you who have appointments already booked, I will be referring you to one of my co workers. I am doing my best to recommend my clients to the stylist I feel will suit your hair needs and personality the best, and I will be sure to leave any special instructions and formulas with your replacement stylist. If anyone has any further questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to message me and I will help you out in any way I can. Hello Beautiful Clients! Just sharing an update for those of you who don’t already know. I am very happy to announce that I am expecting a baby boy in June! I am not sure yet when I will be starting my maternity leave, but I am due in the beginning of June so if you will be needing your colour done before summer, please try and book sooner than later to be sure you get in. I will be sure to leave you all in good hands while I am gone, and will update you all with a date when I know when i will be starting my leave. Please few free to message me with any concerns. UPDATE She came back to the salon today and I was able to save some of her hair! I’ve attached a video of it in the shampoo bowl today after a semi permanent ...color, a deep conditioner and an olaplex treatment, you can tell how much healthier the hair is, before I couldn’t even run my fingers through it without pulling out chuncks of hair. We cut some (posted on my page) but due to not being able to style or use heat I wasn’t able to get a good picture. I’m sharing this for educational purposes only. Backstory: she bleached her box colored hair at home and then put a relaxer on it (also at home) to control frizz Chemicals are not something you want to mess with without the proper knowledge and training, this is exactly why. Her hair is beyond recovery. Unrelated but if your stylist tells you that your hair will take several sessions, it is not to take your money (you’re going to have to return anyways to keep your color up ) we tell you this because we know your hair can’t handle what it is that you want in one visit. The difference in box color and professional color is that when you have your hair done by a professional, the color is customized for you specifically with the integrity of your hair taken into consideration. Box color has to work the same for one person as the next wether you have thick course black hair or fine damaged blonde hair. This is why we need to make sure the deregulation of cosmetology license doesn’t happen! If you’ve been box dying your hair brown for years and plan to keep it the same color forever then by all means box color and save yourself some money but if you plan to change your color at some point you’re only adding damage to your hair and it will cost you more money overtime to correct it. And always tell your stylist if you have box colored in the past, this is so important because the metallic dyes in the box color can react with our products and damage your hair! It’s a horrible feeling as a stylist knowing there’s absolutely nothing you can do to help someone save their hair. (none of this was done inside our salon, she came after the damage to see if we could help her) ***Edit: This post was not made to bash anyone, it was posted with the client’s permission to educate you on what can happen. After losing her hair yesterday this woman helped save the life of a pedestrian who was struck by a car today so if you haven’t done that with your day, keep your rude remarks to yourself. For everyone asking about our end result.. the day she came in the salon she couldn’t bear shaving it so we cut a lot off and combed a ton out (hints all the hair in the trash can) she’s going to come back Monday for a treatment and another big chop, until then shes wearing a wig.

Starting September 23rd I will be moving to a new location at URBAN SALON in McAllister Place mall! any existing appointments will be transferred over, and I will be in contact to confirm that everyone knows about the changes. there also may be a slight price increase in some services. I will do my best to make everyone aware of the cost and be sure to make your service worth every extra cent. ... For now, Please continue to book through directly contacting me. * The More You Know ... GUEST SPOT by @monsterlocks LET'S TALK BLACK BOX DYE One of the most common color corrections is removing black box dye. DO NO...T expect to be blonde after 1 session! It will not happen and it's not the stylist's fault, we are limited to the canvas you bring us. You CAN get rid of the black dye completely, but it will take few sessions, a couple of hundred $'s and losing some length. Trust the process & your stylist, and you will get the results you want!

* The More You Know ... by @marissapusateri - BRILLANT info + visual! - The reality of going blonde if your hair is currently dark. Do not sit in your sty...lists chair with dark hair expecting to leave a perfect platinum, ashy, silver, natural blonde color. It takes multiple sessions+a lot of time, patience+money to achieve. Also AWKWARD PHASES!! Especially if you want to fully bleach out the majority of your hair. If you have had previous color put on your hair expect banding it’s going to happen. Even if your hair color has faded out of your hair it is still there! The only way hair color fully leaves the hair is if it’s cut off or if it’s bleached out. Previously colored hair, especially dark colors do not lift to a pretty blonde in one session. Embrace the warmth. Now with my client her goal is a dark shadow root into silver blonde all over. Going into this we both knew it was going to be a process. I prepped her hair with 3 olaplex treatments (once a month for 3 months she would come in for just an olaplex treatment). Once I felt her hair was healthy enough to go forward with bleaching we started with one session of bleaching (which is what you see in the picture above) This is a 3 hour process of just bleaching+washing+blow drying her hair. Taking extremely thin sections+taking my time applying so I do not overlap and cause breakage on her ends. I was on my clients head for nonstop 3 hours. I then stopped to take this picture to educate clients+stylists that it’s not easy going from dark to blonde it takes time. It’s a process. This is what her hair looked like after one bleaching process. That band of brass in the center of her head is from the previous 2N that was applied on her hair at a different salon. Now with banding there’s not much you can do.
