Sad day in Pop Music news around the world. One of the greats from the 1960s, Gerry Marsden of The Pacemakers, passed away yesterday. I had the pleasure and honour of opening for him twice at The Cavern in Liverpool, England, just before he retired. We shared the same dressing room together, and got together for a couple of fun shots in between our respective concerts... FULL HOUSE, thanks to Gerry. I remember learning Ferry Cross The Mersey when I was a beginner on the gui...tar back in 1964... and I actually played that song a few years ago on that same ferry in Liverpool. Gerry had so many wonderful songs, and had such a fantastic personality. He was the REAL DEAL! We'll all miss you, my friend. Hal

Goodbye to one of the great pioneers of the 60s music revolution, Spencer Davis. I loved their stuff because of their mixture of blues and pop-rock ‘n’ roll...... ie: I’m A Man and Gimme Some Lovin’, (two of the staples in my 60s concerts). I was very fortunate enough to work on the Flower Power Cruise on the same bill as him, and also I got to open for him and his group at the Cavern Club in Liverpool, England a few years back, a CLASS ACT! He will be sorely missed by so many of his followers, friends and family. RIP Spencer
