After careful consideration we have regretfully decided to put the festival back a year. Hopefully things will be massively improved and people will then be goi...ng out with confidence. The new dates are 11th to 15th May 2022 (we’ve made it slightly longer). This also gives us more time to raise sponsorships & crowdfund so more events can be put on. A few events are being transferred to the Halifax Festival of Words taking place 22-24 October,namely The Orielles & Julia Bardo. These will take place in The Albany Arcade instead. Refunds will be given if you have a ticket & can’t make the new dates. Please follow the Halifax Festival of Words Facebook page, we will be making announcements on that page this week. This really is not what we had hoped but it feels the correct decision.

Things have been quiet here for a while but behind the scenes we've been a hive of lockdown activity as we are working on the basis that the festival will be going ahead. A few announcements of the 15+ bookings already made will follow here in the next week or so.
