We are happy to say that we are open again. We look forward to seeing you soon. The numbers in Halifax seem to be under better control. We have invested in yet another layer of protection for you and for us with a Dyson air purification and humidifying system in each treatment room. The air flow in our clinic has always been good and now it will be even better.

We have taken the difficult decision to voluntarily close our clinic temporarily. We want to assure you that we are healthy and do not have any symptoms of COVID-19. We have gone above and beyond the province approved guidelines of our professional associations with respect to staying open during COVID-19 in order to ensure the safety of everyone coming to our clinic. We are making this change because we are not able to physically distance with our work. With new COVID-19 ca...ses currently matching new case numbers identified during the spring shut-down, we believe the only way to ensure the safety of everyone at the clinic under current circumstances is to close for the time being. We will be reassessing on a week-by-week basis and will re-open when case numbers indicate that it is safer to be open again. Thank you for your support in working with us to follow all of the guidelines and practices to safely remain open over these past few months. We hope you understand our decision. We're open again, and so is online booking! Thank you so much for your patience in the last little while. We have been able to put in place everything we need in order to be able to re-open the clinic. We wanted to take our time to thoroughly review all of the provincial and association requirements we're asked to meet so that we have absolute confidence that we get this right. We're finally there! ... Our online booking system has now been re-activated. If you’ve reached out to us at any point since the beginning of the shut-down, we’ll be reaching out to you as early as tomorrow to start making bookings for the next few weeks. We're almost there! We heard yesterday from the Chief Medical Officer of Health for the Province of Nova Scotia that the Criteria for Re-Opening plan developed by the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths (NSAO), of which Tracy and Rob are members, has been approved. We’re allowed to re-open as early as June 5 if we are able to meet all of the requirements of this plan. We’ve also developed a plan specific to our clinic, as required by the Province of Nova Scotia and the NSA...O. We want to thank you for your patience as we move forward carefully to ensure that we are in compliance with or exceed every element of this plan. We still have some items on order that affect our ability to reopen. If you’ve reached out to us anytime in the last few months about booking an appointment, we’ve made note of that and we’ll get in touch with you soon about booking in. Thanks for your understanding. Clinic Re-Opening We're looking forward to welcoming you back to our clinic! The province announced today that businesses that were ordered to close due to COVID-19 may re-open on June 5, 2020.... In order to re-open, businesses must have set in place a plan for re-opening that has been approved by Nova Scotia Public Health. We are members of the Nova Scotia Association of Osteopaths (NSAO). The NSAO has submitted a plan for re-opening to Nova Scotia Public Health and is awaiting approval. As NSAO members we will be following this thorough plan at our clinic. There are a few changes you can expect at the clinic. When you book an appointment we will let you know what you can expect when you come for your appointment. We're working to be ready to re-open on June 5, but at this time we are waiting on deliveries of some items we'll need to have at the clinic in order to re-open. We appreciate your patience. If you had an appointment that had to be cancelled or if you contacted us during the closure, we will be in touch soon about scheduling. For everyone's health and safety we will be re-opening slowly as we all adapt to the changes. We've temporarily suspended online booking while we consider what impact these changes will have on our schedules. We expect to re-launch online booking again very soon. Interesting study Highlights Osteopathic manipulative treatment showed positive effects on preterm newborns.... 10-min of osteopathic treatment produced significant changes in newborns' heart rate. 10-min of osteopathic treatment produced a significant increase in newborns' oxygen saturation levels. Static touch did not generate significant changes in heart rate or oxygen saturation levels. Osteopathy probably induces a metabolic effect followed by an autonomic reaction.

We had a wonderful weekend in Toronto. Never stop learning. One of the valuable sessions I attended was for postpartum athletes - but in my mind, all new moms are athletes and can use some help getting back on track after having a baby.
