The Toronto Condo market is starting to wobble according to this latest article from Bloomberg Wealth. Possibilities for this recent surge in new condo listings may be attributed to the following: skittish investors (many with negative cash flow given surging rental listings and a 14% y/y drop in rents), elevator phobia, unit holders coming off mortgage deferrals, comparatively higher unemployment among condo dwellers, office-liberated workers ditching the city for bigger/greener spaces, and negative mass consumer self-reinforcing psychology of surging listings.

Toronto homes sales soar to record highs for September, but the news is mixed with alarming concern over the condo market that saw rental listings up 147% resulting in rent values dipping by 14% year-over-year. It will be interesting to see if this trend continues over the course of the next few months.
