So many white folks view equity as an attack on their individual/group rights, as prejudicial treatment towards them, as reverse racism, and as out right oppression This rhetoric is often spewed without understanding, 1. White privilege 2. White supremacy... 3. Colonization 4. Racism Self education is key! Learn, reflect, and understand. #learn #educate #antiracismeducation #antioppressivepractice

Ryerson University is renaming its new Faculty of Law after the Honourable Lincoln Alexander (1922 - 2012). The Faculty would be known as Lincoln Alexander Scho...ol of Law at Ryerson University. A renowned Lawyer, the Honourable Lincoln Alexander was the first Black Member of Parliament to Canada's House of Commons, the first Black Federal Cabinet Minister, the first Black Chair of Workers’ Compensation Board, and Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. The Honourable Lincoln Alexander was widely known for promoting racial justice and equity, as well as championing education and youth empowerment. "Throughout his career, Mr. Alexander demonstrated a longstanding commitment to championing education and youth initiatives and advancing racial equality. Today's announcement is a very fitting testament to those commitments and we hope that our students will similarly serve and support others in their future careers holding true to their values with the same fervor that he did," says Mohamed Lachemi, President and Vice Chancellor of Ryerson University in a statement. The renaming ceremony will take place during a virtual inaugural year-end celebration on May 6, 2021.

I believe that there will ultimately be a clash between the oppressed and those that do the oppressing. I believe that there will be a clash between those who want freedom, justice and equality for everyone and those who want to continue the systems of exploitation. They don’t teach about Malcom in our schools because they want the oppressed to believe that the route to freedom, justice, and equality should be a peaceful one. White supremacy has exploited and twisted our civil rights history. #malcomx #freedom #justice #equality #remembermalcolm
