Notice of Annual General Meeting The Hamilton Olympic Club will be holding its annual general meeting on Wednesday, December 2nd at 7:30 p.m. Owing to the continuing public health recommendations to limit the size of public gatherings, the 2020 meeting will be held virtually on Zoom (see link below). This link will be sent out once again in advance of the meeting. The following occurs at the club's AGM.... Financial statements are disclosed and ratified; All actions of the club's Board of Directors for the previous year are ratified; Elections of club officers and directors take place; Reports are given from club officials and coaches. And, as per recent tradition, the club will hold a draw for a free one-year membership to a family in attendance! So please consider attending our virtual AGM, and also consider putting your name forward to serve as either a club director or officer. Getting ready for some late summer track and field competitions.

Yesterday we issued a letter to members of #HamOnt City Council, in addition to provincial and federal government representatives, to provide supplementary info...rmation on a number of questions asked by members of Council following our presentation on August 10. This letter speaks to the efforts of #Hamilton2026 to date as well as our proposed framework for further assessment and consideration of the Commonwealth Games Federation’s offer including the timing of our return to Hamilton City Council. Great news! The club is now in a position to accept registrations for our fall Youth Development Program. Taking great care to ensure your young athlete's safety, including the presence of a safety officer to ensure social distancing, we invite you to access the link below to register for our fall program, beginning September 8th and running every Tuesday and Thursday. until October 29th at the Ray Lewis Track and Field Centre at Mohawk Sports Program. The Youth Development ...Program (YDP) is open to athletes aged 8 - 11 and are in grades 2 - 5. Pat Cole A Quiet Legend ...has reached the finish line... July 13 2020... Pat Cole spent her life committed to young people with dreams. HOC coach Pat Cole defined The Power of One. Coach Cole’s positive impact on the athletic-personal-and-professional life of hundreds is indeed legendary. Herself, an accomplished HOC athlete - a Canadian champion - Pat represented Canada at the 1959 Pan Am Games (Chicago). She coached kids at HOC for close to three decades as well as serving a twenty-year tenure at McMaster University (1967-87) where she won six Ontario university championships. Pat’s coaching prowess earned her selection to Team Canada’s coaching staff - Pan Pacific Rim Games (Osaka Japan). In 1990 Pat was honoured as the first female inductee into the McMaster University Sports Hall of Fame. The Hamilton Gallery of Distinction welcomed the accomplished athlete-coach to its Wall of Honour in 2000. And in 2015 - Hamilton born Pat Cole - was named to The Hamilton Sports Hall of Fame. Eleanor Roosevelt constructed this profound phrase about friends... ...and... Coaches often - become friends friends for life... Many people will walk in and out of your life but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart And indeed - homegrown hero Pat Cole - has left her footprints in the hearts of hundreds.
