*LOW BACK PAIN* . . . What is it?... One of the most ubiquitous MSK pathologies in North America, it's believe to be the number 1 cause of sick days taken. . What causes it? One thing to consider in patients presenting with low back pain is kinetic chain involvement. Bending and lifting gradually challenges more involvement of the chain as range and moment arms exhibit greater challenge -you move further into the movement, you work harder. If you have areas in the range/resistance/rate that are compromised or perceived as such in some way, you'll have a greater likelihood of discomfort. Your nervous system wants you to know it, and to change something. Pain is a warning. . So what can we do? MOVE! Look at the capable movements available, and test them. Are you strong in each? Stable? Controlled? Mobile? In this case we're using a large degree of hip and spine RANGE, with a low RATE and a moderate RESISTANCE of movement. The focus here is control of mobility, especially as supported by the deep hip muscles. You should feel this in your bum. If it feels like our rehab is becoming more like a workout, congratulations! That's the idea. Less boring rehab, more enjoyable movement! . . . #backpain #backpainrelief #pain #massagetherapy #sijdysfunction #glutetraining #hiphinge #biopsychosocial #spinalhealth #mobility #flexibilitytraining #proprioception #stretching #health #edsawareness #90/90 #hipstrength #hipmobility See more

Neil Meigh from The Kettlebell Physio page helped me a lot to translate this infographic of mine. I hope it's gonna make you realize that you are safe to move. Bend, lift, run, jump, just load your body. It will make you stronger.
