Ambassador Richard @thedogsbollocks shares his a 2020 highlight with a dialled nutrition strategy at the Iron Horse Ultra: The Iron Horse Ultra 100 was supposed to be my 9th race of 2020, it ended up my only race, but was well worth the trip from Ontario to Northern Alberta. It was 100 miles of rail trail, gravel roads and every type of field you can think of, with punishing hills throughout. Stunningly gorgeous countryside, especially with the late autumn colours, a...long with a well-marked course made for a top racing experience. Despite the Covid restrictions the race had a great atmosphere throughout, topped off by the finish line bonfire and hand-made finishers' medals. . I took just over 25 hours to complete the 100 miles. With only Perpetuem for fuel, plain water in my pack and Endurolytes, Anti-fatigue Caps and BCAA each hour, I had no stomach issues and consistent energy levels, my fuelling was spot on. I also ended the race without a single blister, which I was very happy about. Just need to get a bit faster now. #howihammer See more
