The fire and water tables are done! The client is beyond ecstatic (which is always what’s most important) and I’m very satisfied with how they turned out. I will wait until we are able to travel freely again then I am hand delivering these to Victoria on Vancouver Island. If you would like me to create a piece of functional art for you, send me a DM so we can plan!

With all the madness going on as of late, and the world turned upside down, I am still focused on being grateful for what I’m able to do; and for the people I have in my life. We may not be able to see each other right now, but I think we will emerge from this changed; as people, as a society, and as a culture. ... If anyone is struggling at the moment, know that you are not alone. Try your damndest to focus on what you can control, and for what/who you have in your life that is wonderful. Let me know in the comments what you are grateful for, and let’s keep the gratitude train going!

I have nothing to post today regarding cabinets or furniture, and this social distancing has me reminiscing about my trip to Europe last September. So a little known fact about me ... Moulin Rouge is my favorite movie of all time. Getting to see the show inside was a dream 18 years in the making! I was also in Amsterdam, London, Munich for Oktoberfest, and Barcelona, but Paris was definitely a highlight. ... What are some of your favorite cities you’ve been to? And where are you dreaming of going next!?

Fire and Water end tables for a client of mine. The Caribbean Blue and Liberty Copper colours from @blackdiamondpigments_com will contrast beautifully with this American Black Walnut. ... I am so grateful to have a job that entails working in a shop. I have been able to work this far into the pandemic PRECISELY because my profession naturally allows for me to work alone. Shout out to @rustydesigncanada @jeffmacksupply and @toolstoday for allowing me to have everything I need shipped to my shop! Gratitude and positivity have been a huge reason for my ability to stay calm in the crazy new world we live in. So let’s keep it going... what is something that YOU are grateful for during this pandemic!? Let me know below

Reminiscing about this beautiful design and build today. I was given some photos as a guide, and asked to bring the client’s vision from a concept to a reality; I was more than excited to do just that! ... Custom built curved hood fan shroud, custom milled furniture kicks with feet machined with table saw/router, and a wine bar area because after all, we are in Wine Country! I love the cleanliness of the white colour, the sexy curves, and the touches of detail such as furniture bases, offset heights/depths of upper cabinets, glass doors, and the large crown moulding. Let me know what you think! Has anyone out there ever milled inside curves of a moulding on a table saw? I’ve added ‘making a how to video post’ about it to my to-do list. : @marinara_88 @ Kelowna, British Columbia

Stole this from @wildlovenation today, and the post comes from the man himself @garyvee I have never given a fuck what people think about me (see pink hair and women’s size 7 pants circa grade 12), but it’s especially important when it comes to being self employed and chasing dreams. What happens if work slows down?, what if your business fails? these are all things I chose to tune out because even if they do happen, I’m still going to forge ahead. ... Make a plan, be consistent, adjust when necessary, and tune out the haters! I have really been using this down time to stay indoors, plan, and build to come out of the gate running! To everyone struggling, grinding and forging ahead anyway, let’s keep going! When people ask how things are going my response is always the same: they’re going forward, so they’re going the right direction! Tell me some of the goals you’re planning or working on while we are all in self isolation in the comments below!

I am making this post to give a sincere thank you to all of the people who have chosen to hit that follow button! Whether you are a fellow joiner, fellow tradesperson, an interior designer, a realtor, or a person that loves woodwork and creativity, I really appreciate all of you taking an interest...it has not gone unnoticed! My goal is to showcase my passion for building and hopefully inspire ideas and creative energy in others; exactly what you have all done for me! ... Happy Saturday and I hope you all continue to crush your goals today, despite being stuck indoors!

Got some big things in the works! Paid a visit to @fellasfurniture today and picked up some beautiful Black Locust and Maple live edge. If you’re in the Okanagan and in need of live edge of all sizes and species, send him a DM! ... I am very eager to get a jump on these projects but first I must wait patiently for my order from @jeffmacksupply ... the clock is ticking... Any guesses as to what I’m doing? Or better yet, I’d like to hear your ideas as to what you would do with them in the comments below

More video shenanigans! This was for a nice little Maple live edge bench I built last summer. I’ve really been doing my best to enjoy this time of isolation and use it to my advantage in a business sense! ... I’ve finished and published my website, I am planning a social media campaign, and I’m feeling very confident about coming out of the gate running when this self isolation is safe to end. I was speaking to @theauraoffice the other day (first about coffee, naturally ) but then the conversation veered into coronavirus territory, and we both agreed there will be two camps of people when this all levels out: the ones who used the time to plan and grow, and the ones who sat idle. Stay safe my friends, we will manage to get through this, if there are several things that set human beings apart from other animals they are resourcefulness and problem solving!

I am very excited! After some final tweaks I finally have a website to send people to when they ask if I have one. Now I’m going to go shout it from a mountain top!

I upgraded my computer a few days ago and have been fooling around with iMovie. I made this little slideshow to play around a bit and to showcase the build of the ‘Australia Table’ I built back in August. ... To all of you business owners out there that make videos for your page, do you have any tips, tricks, etc for me? @alier27 I SWEAR when all this craziness is over I will get your table to you! Let me know what you all think in the comments below! ...and remember I am available for custom furniture commissions and will ship within North America!

The railing is complete! The stair railings were fun (spelled ‘a challenge’ haha) but the learning was invaluable. It was great to do something new and add to the experience points, I’ll be a carpenter yet @mturnerphoto @knowone.construction @ Kelowna, British Columbia

A little isolation project for my lady @wildlovenation ... turned a dresser into a bad ass desk! Still need to paint it and put bottoms in the empty slots at the bottom, but it’s a nice little upgrade for her business activities. She’s thinking antique white with a rub through finish ... what do you all think? @ Kelowna, British Columbia
