Not ALL the ice surfaces will be closed this year due to Covid. We are preparing ours now, well with a little help from Mama Nature. If she could only build us a Zamboni too!

A perfect excursion for a cloudy day. Just 30 minutes from Apsley, the Petroglyph park, Lake McGinnis and then a stop at the chip truck at Xtreme Fries on our way home.

Not sure why we waited 5 years to go here!! Such a great day!

Little Jack Lake

At the end of the hike, we see the Falls.

At the dam between "Big" Jack Lake and "Little" Jack Lake.

Today's Excursion: LITTLE JACK LAKE!! Boat ride to the dam at the end of the "Big" Jack Lake. Park at the dock and a beautiful 20 minute walk to Little Jack Lake where you'll find the water falls and the swinging rope. This was our favorite activity so far. So worth the walk!

LEAHY FARMS!! Another favorite stop on the way! On hwy 28 just 30 minutes before Apsley (coming from Peterborough). Who doesn't love fresh produce (I mean apart from every kid that ever lived)! Don't worry, they have baked goods to satisfy the kids (big and small). And cheese curds!? Yuuuuuuuum!

BURLEIGH FALLS! A fun stop on your way or a fun day trip during your stay. Approximately 20 minutes from Hammond Haven heading West on hwy 28.

The Woodview General Store has everything you need. Coming from the GTA and maybe forgot to pack something? They probably have it here. In addition they are serving Kawartha ice cream and fresh cut fries. Delish! They even have taco fries which look amazing! I do recommend though that if there is a line up at the chip wagon, maybe take a pass. We waited 40 mins for two orders of fries. Luckily we weren't in a hurry.
