Hampton Iona Community Group will be hosting 3 events in the coming months. Here is information on the first one. Event #1 Urban Foraging Webinar... Earth Day, Thursday, April 22, 2021 7:30pm - 9:00pm Urban foraging has become a popular hobby these days, not only to discover new foods, but to learn more about the environment and appreciate how it all works together. This webinar introduces people to the ethics of foraging. How to identify some of the most versatile and nutritious plants, how to harvest plants sustainably, and tips on using them in every day recipes. The event is designed for beginners and even comes with an online foraging handbook. Presenter, Sharon Boddy, has been an urban forager for about 15 years. Our Gardener in Residence, Eileen Hunt, checks out Iona Park and the rink even with the mounds of snow.
