Happy International Womans Day! We have had many women coaches over the years in our 14 divisions of Baseball/Softball/Challengers and we value that they are strong role models and leaders for all of our Players. Here is a small selection of coaches past and present who hold their own! Many thanks Coaches Selena, Rhonda and Kristen, Christine, Hollis, Tabitha, Castle, Tracy, Carrie, Raven and Nikki. Fun fact: In this group 8 are mothers, 1 is not, and 1 is a Gramma (who is th...e mom-in-law of one of the moms!) #hamptonlittleleague #IWD2021 #internationalwomensday2021 #changingthegame #coach See more
2020 Super sweet Mini Minors, mostly age 6! A big thank you to all of our parents for helping with the new protocols including screening questions, attendence recording, hand and equipment sanitizing, one chaperone per Player, specific field exit/entry points, and more, in all of our divisions. Other duties included picnic table and washroom sanitizing, and observing the closed bleachers and water fountain. Support for these safety measures from our parent community was key to ensuring safety and the ability to complete the regular and fallball seasons, many, many thanks!
2020 Tball cuteness! We'd like to thank all of our coaches, in all of our divisions, generous individuals who share their knowledge and provide a fun place to play. We cannot run programs without you! Thank you!

The fall season will run until mid-October and there will most likely be inter-lock games now that the province has moved to Phase 3 for sports. Our major softball team would like to thank World Series coach Joey for leading their practice this week and helping them improve. Joey’s three-batter drill was especially popular!
Globe and Mail, Aug 17, 2020: Women's softball was developed in the 1880's, but it had its heyday from the 1930's through the 1960's. Early on, it was mostly women's teams barnstorming their way across North America. But with the onset of the Second World War, Philip Wrigley, owner of the Chicago Cubs, wanted to keep baseball top-of-mind. He created the All-American Girls Softball League -it is portrayed in the movie A League of Their Own -and annual attendance peaked at m...ore then 900,000 in 1948. The occasionally rough sport was played throughout Canada, too. In the above photo, third baseman Jessie Stallard, part of Simpson's Senior Ladies Softball team in Toronto, strikes an at-bat pose ahead of a game against a three-time world champion team from New Orleans. Softball is an Olympic sport now, too, and the Canadian senior women's team is regarded as one of the best in the world. (By Philip King) Note: "barnstorming" is not a typo, it refers to traveling to various rural areas to perform
