With winter white yarn, I put a fuzzy soft white/grey/black yarn and added a wee bit of black accent and black/white/grey glitter ladder ribbon. It's not spiky and has a softness about it. A Wide Brimmed "Greta Garbo" Hat, its a classic. $60, no tax.

I always am trying new yarns and several months ago I got in a lovely pale grey yarn with a soft pinkish thread in it. It was really hard to figure out what to match it with, but I think I finally did. I put it with an orchid pink and a soft grey and love how it turned out. Some people don't like the spikiness of the feather (eyelash?) yarn so I found this soft, fluffy green and put it with a touch of black and lavender in the crown and made the brim in lavender to match the edging.
