In this front yard about a year ago, approximately a 30 foot spruce tree was taken down and all that was left in its spot is a pile of dirt. In its place the client has asked us to build a raised planting bed so they can plant new flowers every summer and make the front yard a little more alive, and than as an extra spread some soil and seed over the whole front yard. Due to the front yard being on a relatively big angle, we tried being a little creative and make the planter ...look as part of the land by "indenting" it into the ground. PART 2- In the front yard it was a little bit of a mission. The client was not really liking how it was looking but also wasn't sure on getting it done this summer. While working on the backyard the client really liked how it was going and decided to go ahead with the front yard. Again from the previous landscape work that has been done around the house the client had some Stackstones left behind, so we decided to incorporate them and used them to build a little wall dividing... the higher ground where the tree and shrubs are and the new sod area. PART 1- This project will be broken into 2 posts due to it becoming bigger than originally anticipated. For this part we will start in the backyard. From previous projects that the client had done in the backyard he had prepped a 21' x 21' area for a patio which we were originally supposed to work on. Of course our plans have changed and we went bigger, the patio has now grew to be 20' x 34'. The client wanted to be able to have a big patio for gatherings as well as a small... basketball court for his son. In this project we used the @expocrete Lafitt Grana Slabs in three sizes as well as in two of the new available colors. The Tofino Grey and Mountain Ash. This front yard was in a need of a small touch up to revive the cozy feel of it again, and low maintenance as per clients request. Together with the client we have decided to go with rock mulch. They chose to go with the River Wash rock as the color compliments the warmth and color of the deck and fence around it. Another one of our quick projects here. The client called us up and told us that him and his neighbor are tired of seeing weeds in between their driveways. That area used to be a nice River Wash rock bed, and what did we do? We brought it back to what it was in no time!
