I wasn’t sure what it would be like to work with, but it finished beautifully. I especially love how it has a grainy look to it - almost like wood. In Watership Down the character of Strawberry was a large rabbit who joined the original group part way through their journey. Strawberry came from a warren of artists - which is somehow perfect, isn’t it? When I was a little girl, my mom used to tell me stories of the ship on which they sailed. The most memorable one for me was of the Flying Fish she saw. While School is not a sculpture of Flying Fish, it represents those sweet stories that parents everywhere have told their children.
