Archivists like to cooperate with each other. This postcard was originally donated to the Kelowna Museums. It had a vague provenance. The donor was from Nelson and found the postcard in a used book. Luckily the Community Archivist in Kelowna knew her steamship history and passed it along to the archives at R.J. Haney Heritage Village and Museum. The S.S. Andover was built in 1908 and originally named the Silver Stream. When builder G.B. Ward went to register the name, it was... already taken so he renamed the steamship. Ward was from New Brunswick.
