"ls flossing really that important?" Well we know you have all heard it again and again from us! But yes flossing is THAT important for your oral health. AND YES we can tell when you decide to floss a couple of nights or a week before your dental visit. You see each tooth has multiple surfaces. A toothbrush can clean the larger surfaces but misses the smaller areas around your teeth where there is an adjacent tooth or gum. This can be where food gets caught, or you get those stubborn coffee or red wine stains. Get into a good routine with flossing your teeth and it really won't take you long at all! Our patients always ask us: "When should I change my toothbrush anyway?" The most ideal time is every 3-4 months or just after you have been sick. Toothbrushes should not be with us for a lifetime.Especially if the brush bristles have begun fraying. When in doubt, look at the bristles, if they start to fray then they will not clean our teeth efficiently . And when we have been sick, we can't stress enough that they should be changed out. All those germs from being sick are now on the toothbrush. So our TIP of the week is: Let's start changing those toothbrushes more often #hanoverdental #steinbachdentist #steinbach
