This is a bit of fun we had in the last few Obedience classes for the spring sessions. A big thank you to my students for letting me tape them. Don't forget to sign up for fall classes starting in September.

Meet Emily, Emily is a hero. She rescued this absolutely amazing puppy from the North. The puppies name is Nellie and she is wonderful. I am so happy to be working with both of them, to help make there lives together an enjoyable experience.
Santa found them even though they weren't home.
Happy holidays from all of us at, Hansens.
I was surprised enough to see a butterfly in the kennel at this time of year. But to see Stella has adopted it made me laugh. If you look to the far left there he is by her dish. They have lived together going on three days now. It makes me smile. You cant tell in the pic, but the color in the wings are the same color as Stella.
I hate coats for dogs. Beside the insane prices they do not cover the tummies, where is actually where my dog has no hair. So I go to a second hand store. Buy a child's fleece jacket for $5, cut off the hood, throw in a few tucks at the waist and tada, she is snuggly warm. As you can see when I tried it on her she didn't want to take it off. Sadly this does not work for boy dogs.

Our second fall class graduates. As predicted it was a fun group. Poor Derek with us three women. Left to right, Grace and River, Derek and Riley, and Amanda and Auggie. They all did a great job and are well on thier way to a good future with thier dogs.
I thought with this lovely weather and the two fabulous visitors I had this week. I'd share some interesting facts. St Bernards being from the monks of the Alps, never brought brandy to lost hikers. They searched in pairs mostly with the female laying with the hiker for warmth. While the male went for help. They almost became exstinct in the 1800, coincidentally caused by losing to many in avalanches. Thanks to the efforts of a breeder, who actually used Canadian Newfoundlanders to help bring the breed back. This is why the coat is now long, the original Bernards were short haired. The dog credited with the most rescues was named Barry. Barry rescued over forty people.
What looks like a fun class, started obedience tonight. I look forward to working with, and getting to know them. Here Keira demonstrates what they will learn.
This Kennel is family ran. I, Anita am the main care giver. I have been training dogs professionally for twenty three years, and have came across a lot of interesting problems. After this many years I still get a few surprises, it keeps it interesting. I enjoy helping owners connect with thier dogs and create a bond that will last a life time, through learning how to communicate to their dogs. The kennel is always interesting, I deep down like all dogs and they know it. I treasure every bond I have made with each of them. I get them and they get that, it works well.
