We want to assure our customers and colleagues that we take their safety very seriously. To remain transparent and to keep our community informed we would like to let you know that two of our team members have tested positive on a presumptive test for COVID-19. They last worked in the store February 3rd and February 8th and are unrelated. We are unable to speak on other details in order to respect their privacy. We are working closely with public health and are following thei...r guidance. We have completed an additional cleaning of high touch areas for these team members. All the processes we have had in place for close to year - additional cleaning, masks, physical distancing, plexi glass installation, sanitizing, hand washing, limited capacity - has been done to to keep our customers and colleagues safe. And this will not stop. The risk to our team and to our customers remains low. Our team members that were positive have very mild symptoms and are resting at home. Wishing them the best. And to our team that continues to put themselves at risk everyday to provide an essential service to our community we want you to know we couldn't do it without you. You are true frontline heroes. Tuesday's announcement from the Ontario Government Mandated the following changes to take effect starting today. Masks / face coverings will now be mandatory for all people entering the building. Our Annual Exeter Food Bank Christmas Food Drive Fundraiser starts today with a twist With Covid precautions in place this year, Food Donation bags will not be pre-assembled. A $10.00 donation by way of a voucher, will purchase the much needed food that has been requested by the food bank. The Exeter Food Bank will then receive all the product in cases which will go a long way in helping people in need in our community! Also, there will not be a drop off bin here at the st...ore so please drop off any goods at the Food Bank itself or make a monetary donation, of any amount, here at the checkouts. COVID-19 has definitely resulted in a lot of changes in our lives.....including a huge increase in the amount of PPE (masks, gloves, gowns etc.) ending up in ...the landfill. Did you know that masks take 450 years to break down?? Thanks to Green Circle Salons we are trying something new: a PPE Recovery Initiative. We collect the PPE , it gets picked up when full, incinerated for clean energy and the ash is used in asphalt and bricks. It’s not a perfect solution but right now we can’t turn off the faucet..... To our Amazing Customers and Community, Recently we raised money through our Give a Little, Help a Lot campaign. Thank you to all the customers and staff who donated towards it. The decision was easy for us to donate the money towards Jessica's House, our local hospice house. It provides a home away from home for end of life care. In the last few months, two members of our work family received compassionate and high quality care from Jessica's House during their remaining ti...me. Please note that our other safety measures will also remain in place:... Limited customers allowed in the store. Customers are still being asked to limit shopping to one customer per household. Please sanitize your hands prior to entering the store. Social distancing of 6 feet is still required Debit or Credit is preferred Rudeness and disrespectful behavior will not be tolerated. 7-8 am Monday through Friday is still reserved for seniors and vulnerable persons. To our Amazing Customers and Community, Let us start by saying how truly sorry we are to all the single parents who have been turned away from our store because of our one person shopping policy. In no way was this policy meant to hurt anyone or was directed at single parents. It was intended to protect our work family, other customers and our community. It was also meant to allow more households the ability to come shopping as we have a limited capacity in the store. We offe...r PC Express online shopping as an alternative as well as we have shopped many times for parents as they wait with their child. Have someone else shop for you or ask a family member to watch your child while you shop would be other options. If none of those options will work for you, we will now allow you to bring in your child to shop. We will continue to keep the safety of everyone top of mind including those who may have circumstances in their life that we may have overlooked.
