We may have made a bit of history last week. "Cherry Blossom F1" is the first feminized seed hybrid included on the List of Approved Cultivars for commercial cultivation in Canada. Developed by Haplotech in collaboration with Mile High CBD and Tritium 3H. We noticed this growing in a pot we'd discarded. Marchantia is a genus of archegoniate plants (a group of plants characterized by the presence of archegonia). Marchantia plant body is called a thallus. Marchantia can reproduce asexually in favourable conditions. The cup-like structures (gemma cups) contain gemmae spores that can germinate directly producing a new thallus. #plantbreeding #plantgenetics #canadianagriculture #greenhouse
