Hey folks! Feel free to share any of our Kennel Cough posts with fellow dog owners. As dog walkers we want to keep all the dogs in our community and dog parks healthy, happy and safe. The more folks that know how to prevent KC the healthier our dogs stay. ... Prevent Vet bills during this tough time and also keep our dogs breathing normally. Kennel Cough can be super scary.

Hey everyone! The weather is changing and guess what that means for our dogs....KENNEL COUGH SEASON. Yaaaaay, Noooo... Bad season. Every year I post preventatives and immune booster to grab for your pooch. Its the best way to keep your pup healthy and on a reg walk schedule with us. If they catch KC they are sadly booted from walks and can only go on private walks or potty breaks. No dog parks. No friends. Booooo...thats no fun....for anyone.... So I want to help keep your doggies happy and healthy. Two things to get your pup on- Chicken bone broth- Natural immune booster and the dogs LOVE it. You can make this. There are simple recipes online. The most basic is to place the chicken into a crockpot fill with water so that it covers the chicken by about 1-2inchs. Add 1-2oz of apple cider vinegar and leave on low for 24 hours. Make sure to continually add more water. If you prefer to buy- Pet Valu stocks Stella and Chewys Chicken or beef BONE BROTH. Do not get this mixed up with regular broth. It must be Bone broth. Healthy Pet Immune Booster - This is a multi vitamin and immune booster which helps aid in prevention of illness such as doggie flu, colds and Kennel Cough When used daily during those pesky in-between seasons you can help prevent your pup from getting sick. Hound and Purr at Queensway and Kipling has this in stock. Apparently Pet Valu hasn't been stocking them much. So lets support a small local business Call ahead, they have curbside pick up. You can park to the side of the building or across the road. You know where fat bastards burritos is? Its across from there. I really would love to show support for this small grooming salon and pet shop. It is run by a very nice lady, Victoria. And she reached out asking for help bc she's barely surviving without her grooming salon being open due to covid :( Hound & Purr has so much to offer. You can also visit her website for your doggie needs. I know Pet valu or Petsmart are "easy" but small businesses can be easy too :) and more rewarding to support. Let's kick Kennel Cough in the butt this year! Your Dogs Best Friends, Team HDWT Healthy Pet Immune Booster- Order ahead for curbside pick up www.houndandpurr.com

ITS HOT OUTSIDE. How to take care of your doggie in this heat.

Happy Dogs Waggin' Tails 26.08.2020

Happy Faces Every dog needs friends and trust us when we say they absolutely love their friends Playtime is great for socializing, happiness and building bonds. ... We know every doggie loves their family but how boring would life be if we never got to see our friends or leave the general area for adventures? We just went through it ourselves for 3 months. It's wouldnt be fair to subject your doggie to a lifetime off that. Or an extended isolation period that we ourselves were dying to get out of We are here to bring happiness to your doggies lives. Introduce them to new friends, sights and smells. Take them on great adventures and capture the moments on camera. We would love to have your doggies join ones of our packs. We have small doggie groups, calmer groups, energetic groups, the hiking crew(for the well trained doggie) and swim groups. Get in touch via email for more information [email protected] or visit our website for pricing www.happydogswaggintails.ca We look forward to hearing for you and seeing everyone in the parks soon enough.

Hi Folks. One of our special long time clients passed away last week On Thursday June 4th @ 1130pm and I wanted to write this up in memory of him and Delta. Many of the dog owners who frequent Kipling Dog Park by the college have met Andy and his hound Delta. They had a special bond. He saved her life and in return she saved his. ... Andy was a client of mine for 7 years. I took care of his sweet rescue dog Delta every Tuesday and Thursday for 7 years. He was always super friendly, kind and offering to help any way he could. He LOVED his dog. He saved her but I'm positive she saved him too. He lived for that little hound dog. Took her to work every day (other than when she was with me) She was a truck drivers dog. for the past 5 days I have taken her pretty much everywhere I could in Hope's it helped her feel a bit more comfortable without her daddy. She seems content in the van. She used to jump around wired and ready to go but this past week she's been more calm and willing to just rest. I have no doubt in my mind that she knows he is gone. She sensed it on thursday before I had even found out. Andy asked me to take care of his precious girl Delta if anything were to happen to him. I figured he was just panicking a bit. This went on for a month. Him making sure his girl was taken care of, even leaving a Delta Fund behind for her. I made sure too that I didnt rush away at drop off like I normally do. I made sure to always give a little wave and Hi. If he was up for a little chat then I would gladly chat for a few moments. He loved to talk about Delta with me and I was happy to as well. It made him happy knowing I cared as much as him about Delta. He wasnt a man of material objects and didnt seem to have much to his name. But he made sure his little doggie was the happiest little senior dog around. His neighbors speak so highly of him. They all want to help care of Delta bc they know how much she meant to Andy. He was giving and kind. Neighbors are in tears. He was just one of those people you would want to have as a neighbor. One neighbor told me stories of how they would run into Andy as he was throwing out his garbage and he would show them his takeout box AND then Deltas takeout box. He treated her like a Queen and fed her that way too. He didnt leave much behind but he left what he could for his best friend in the world, Delta. In his last hours one of the main things he kept saying was to check in with Mel. Mel has Delta and shes taken care of. Delta is taken care of. Yes Andy, I have your girl and I will make sure she has a happy last few years. She will be loved and never feel alone. I promise. Rest Peacfully Andy! You will be missed by more people than you could even imagine. Until our next conversation! Love Delta and her dog walker Mel.

If you could ask your dog one question...what would it be? I would ask "What could I do to make you happier and feel more fulfilled?"

**URGENT** Hello, My son's service dog was stolen a few weeks ago. We have been desperately trying to track her down for weeks with no luck. We believe she has already been sold to someone. She is a chocolate brown bully mix with a white blaze that goes off to one side of her face, a white chest and underbelly, 4 white socks and a pink dot on her nose. I have attached her poster and several pictures so she is able to be recognized. If you should see her or she comes through ...your facility please contact my son at (905) 399 6028 or the Halton police at (905)825-4747 immediately. Also if you have a social media page you wouldn't mind sharing her "Lost Dog" poster, that would be a significant help and greatly appreciated. Thank you. Sincerely, Liliane Hazineh

Dont forget to protect your doggies paws from the salt around your buildings and on sidewalks. Vintage Dog paw and nose balm works like a charm. Not to mention you can also use it as a moisturizer for their cracked paws and dry nose. A product that actually works. We gave them out to clients last Christmas for gifts! Check it out!... https://vintageproducts.ca/shop

Hey Folks. Just a warning to those living in the Palace Pier area (parklawn/lakeshore) An individual(s) has decided to put out raw meat with some sort of white pills in it along a path predominantly used by owners taking their dogs for walks.... There really is no real need to repost the recent news article. Just do yourself and your dog a service and pay attention to your surroundings wherever you walk. This is NOT something new. This sort of thing happens all year, every year. People lacing dog treats with gasoline and putting those treats into dog parks. Or white powder being tossed all over high park. Now... on our beautiful lakefront. I have no doubt in my mind this act was done in retaliation to a recent dog death and other injuries incurred from local coyotes. A lot of folks have become fearful as those coyotes move a little closer to the condo area...PLEASE just do your part and share the space with our dogs distant cousins, the coyotes. They were here first, we took their homes from them and now they are just trying to survive. Bring a small blow horn on your walks or even coyote spray from Canadian Tire if you are that afraid. But please dont try to cause harm to the wildlife. It's natural for them to hunt and that includes rabbit, mice, rats, deer and even your little doggie. Be Safe- Avoid greenspaces at dawn and dusk. When you hear from neighbors that coyotes have been sighted in certain areas please work to avoid that area for the time being. Use dog parks. Make sure no one is feeding the wildlife and if you find bread on the ground grab a poop bag and pick it up. We do this all the time on our walks. I'm not saying we dont get nervous when we see or hear the coyotes but we also dont tempt fate. Walk with other doggie friends in larger groups. Link up and do your evening walks together. Let's try to live in peace with these beautiful creatures. If you hear of someone wanting to set out "traps" or poison for coyotes please discourage this as it's our dogs that get caught in the crossfire and I dont know about you but I'm pretty darn fond of my doggies
