And we're off! The snow is gone and we are full on at the farm now! Our new farm hands are busy prepping beds and next week we start planting. Did you know we do all of our farming by hand? No tractors, no machines...just us, our hands, and our forks. This is the most gentle way we can grow food and it means that every inch of our 140 garden beds get worked by hand, so we are very in tune with our soil and whats happening throughout all of our gardens. We may have been MIA from social media for the past few weeks, but rest assured there is no downtime for these farmers!! We have spent the better part of the past two months doing our year end work while planning and preparing for the 2021 growing season! We are deep in the throes of reviewing our crop plans and planning our planting schedule, which if you can believe it, will start in a week!! We've been so busy since we put our fields to sleep for the winter, we haven't eve...n taken a break yet! Much of this is in part to our sister farm, @flourishmicrofarm , where we produce certified organic microgreens to feed the West Kootenays, but a lot of the work we have been doing is to set ourselves up for what we are planning to be our best year yet at Happy Hills. We have exciting news to share in the coming week, so stay tuned and follow along!
