Social support and connection is one of the greatest indicators of happiness. One of the examples that I like to use that demonstrates the impac...t of social connection on belief and optimism is a study that had people simply standing at the bottom of a hill looking up. Those standing by themselves were much less likely to believe they could reach the top with ease. Those standing with a friend, had the highest belief they could achieve it. Don't underestimate the power of relationships on your mindset! Knowing this, who can you reach out to this week? Who can you connect with? Who is that person that you have been meaning to call? That simple connection will not only have an impact on you, but it will also support their mental well being as well! Do a little extra this week, to conenct! If you are constantly doing everything for your team, or you are "saving" them, your team will not grow in the same way. The level of failure should be based on where they are at in their career and with their current learning path (ie: don't give someone a million dollar leash in their first month). This isn't about taking the "sink or swim" approach either, this is only AFTER you have onboarded an associate and as a way to stretch peoples growth and advance their learning. I was given the opportunity to work with a company that already has close to $100 million dollar sales results. Covid was an opportunity for them to slow down (they were forced to)and reflect on their customer experience. We brought teams together virtually, we identified strengths, and the front line team identified opportunities. From there we developed key questions to ask current customers about, so we could understand their experience. We were able to identify the KEY ...METRIC that led to the customer choosing them vs not choosing them with every order. This is powerful- because we can impact that metric. As we are all settling into September, and we have all had to make changes this year, one of the biggest for me was going virtual!
