Just a reminder that we are now open 4 hours a week for in-house patron access and 6 hours a week for public computer access. Please see the schedule in our September 24th post on this page. We'll continue to follow this schedule for the present time. Curbside delivery will also continue...it is by far our most popular service at this time. Please don't hesitate to call us at 596-3894 or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about our services or if you need other information.

We will be closed for curbside pickup on Saturday, September 5 and Tuesday, September 8. Curbside pick-up will continue as usual on Wednesday, September 9. Please use our telephone voicemail to leave a message at 596-3894 or email us with your messages/questions at [email protected]. Thank you for your patience and support as we continue to learn together how to deliver and use library services in a new way.. We hope you all enjoy a pleasant and safe Labour Day weekend...and that you get lots of berries!

It's been a while since we've provided you with an update. That's mostly because our patrons have taken to curbside pick-up like a duck takes to water! For the most part, curbside pick-up service has been running like a well-oiled machine - from my side of the door anyway. It's all been very new and very different, but, those of you who have been using it, have adjusted rather well. Hopefully, over the next several weeks, we will see at least a small influx of new books (...yay!). And, please remember that we are doing interlibrary loans, so please ask if there is something you would like to read, but it's not here in Harbour Grace. Now, for the really big question: when might it be possible for you to come through our doors, and browse our shelves?!!! After all, that's at least half the pleasure of using the library. There is currently a tentative plan in place to begin reopening our buildings to the public, beginning September 8. As with our opening for curbside pick-up services, this will be a gradual process, with a few libraries opening initially, then others in the following weeks. There will, of course, be many restrictions in place as we enter this phase, so we will need to ask you to continue to be patient with us. Some of you might be comfortable with curbside pick-up: it appears that we will continue with that for some time going forward. Our library's tentative date for reopening our building is the week of September 29. As we move closer to that time, and the reopening plans are more concrete, I will provide more details here on our Facebook page. In the meantime, I would ask you to please spread the word about curbside pick-up services. And please call us at 596-3894 or email at [email protected] if you want to request some books or ask us questions.
