Like a fine wine .. Sometimes our lawns need a little aeration too. AERATION: Core aeration is a type of lawn aeration whereby a machine (a lawn aerator) with hollow tines mechanically removes plugs or "cores" of soil and thatch from a lawn. Core aeration reduces soil compaction, creating a channel through which oxygen, water, and nutrients can penetrate the soil.

DETHATCHING: Most lawns experience areas where the grass dies just above the soil. Known as thatch, this layer of dead grass is beneficial in small amounts. However, when thatch builds up too quickly, it prevents water and air from reaching your grass, which can cause widespread brown patches.
