What is your relationship like with failure? Such a loaded word for so many people. Its certainly a learned response; as a little kid you just kept on going, trying again, getting better, figuring it out. Learning to walk is one example that a lot of coaches use - no baby ever stopped trying to learn to walk. We all progressed to toddler no matter how many times we fell down. The other thing I love about using this example (because I use it to) is how it illustrates how ...much others can support, and often influence, us in getting back up after a fall (or a failure). When you fell down learning to walk, or you watched your own child fall down, no parent ever criticized or mocked the fall - we encouraged, we cheered, we supported the continued efforts! Can we achieve our adult goals alone? Of course, anything is possible. But can we achieve our goals faster, and with a whole lot more fun with support, encouragement and community? YES! This is what I create for my clients, whether its one-to-one, in a group, and often as both. How are you feeling today? Before you give the generic Im fine answer, remember that you have the ability to choose. You can look at an otherwise bad situation, such as kids interrupting your live video (what do you mean? never happens here...) as an opportunity for an impromptu parenting mindset tip followed by family summer schedule co-creation! Can you tell this is a real-life example!! Happened this morning in my FB Live teaching about Imagination A little mindset shift is all it takes to lift your spirits and brighten your day! Tuesday Tip: Expect the Best! This seems obvious, but often we do the exact opposite! We want the best outcome, but then we worry, doubt, obsess over what could go wrong, or where it wont work out. Apply your Imagination - this great mental tool we have! - and stay focused on the end results (whatever that is!) at its best. Feeling this way, go about your day with ease and in-joy!

How is your IMAGINATION these days? Napoleon Hill says "imagination is the most marvellous, miraculous, inconceivably powerful force the world has ever know". I bet you were very good at using your imagination when you were younger...and then have tended to have used against yourself rather than FOR ourselves as you got older. Like when you worry...shat is worry? Putting your imagination to work against ourselves. How often are your thoughts and your mind on what might not w...ork out? What if you switched it around. Focus your thoughts and your mind on what might work out? If you are thinking about anything in the future - this afternoon, next month or next year - is it ALL imaginary from this moment, this now. Isnt that crazy to think about?? But true! Learn now to harness this power! Heres a fun way to debrief from your day - in your journal or around the dinner table with your family - that bring in gratitude, addressing challenges, and noticing opportunities. Have you heard of this? I came across it twice in the same week and so just had to explore it more deeply. And to share it with you. Rose - Thorn - Bud Rose - What has blossomed today? What went well today? What made you smile and feel good? ... Thorn - What was prickly about today? Acknowledge a challenge or failure. Ask for support. Share ideas you are working on to address these. Bud - What is growing? What is something you are looking forward to? Opportunities you have noticed or ideas you have that you want to explore? Learning happens when we reflect on our experiences. We debrief after an important pitch to a client, do a post-mortem at the end of a project. Sports teams watch their games after the fact; elite athletes the videos of their dive, their race. Take it from John Dewey: "We do not learn from experience...we learn from reflecting on experience" Try the Rose - Thorn - Bud to reflect on your day. Whatcha up to, friend? #lockdown - seems like forever now! Ive discovered new hobbies to keep myself entertained during the quarantine, like baking sourdough bread (mostly successful) and new places to hide my kids electronics every day until their school work is done... Although its been fun, my passion is still helping business owners and entrepreneurs plan and implement so their inner and outer games are aligned to unlock everything they know they have to offer the wor...ld! As a planner I saw too many plans that sat on the shelf because people didnt know how to close the gaps between what they planned for and what they actually did every day.
