DAYTONA BIKE WEEK Looks like freedom reigns in some places??
Well now, here's some info that I had no idea about........ Did you?
My life is full of bikers, so please understand a few things..... In the dry, they leave a 2 second gap and in the wet 4 seconds. The gap they leave between the car in front of them isn't for you to squeeze in. Contrary to popular belief, they cannot stop their bike on a dime! They speed up when they are in your blind spot, not to race, but so that you can see them.... PLEASE put your phone down because the life you save may be a wife, father, sister, brother, cousin, uncle or even grandfather or indeed yours as well. Remember we all have to share the road. When making a lane change, please use the driver assistance devices that are fitted to your vehicle known as MIRRORS and the blinky things that they call indicators! Also turn your head and look to check that blind spot! Some of them may ride with their lights on at all times, this is for those less observant so you can see them day or night! Also if you think their exhaust pipes are too loud, ask yourself if you saw them first or heard them first? So please watch out for them and all the Biking Brothers and Sisters on the roads. We are all someone’s husband, wife, son, daughter, uncle, aunt, sister, brother, niece, nephew, neighbor or best friend. Everyone will all be better off, and more importantly, alive to come home to our loved ones. It doesn’t matter who has the right of way because either way, we all lose. If you're a fellow biker or a conscientious car driver please feel free to copy and paste!
my institutionalized educational system involvement was very much like this....I feel like I was "Steve"
Part of my job as an appraiser is to verify values by looking at other vehicles of similar caliber. This poses a few difficulties, in that every custom is unique, so finding "SIMILAR" ones is a challenge, secondly, I spend a lot of time drooling over some of the bikes and combinations of parts that I find in that search. This is one such machine. 2015 "VENDETTA" Custom Built by Big Tony's Chopp Shop, factory title, N.A.D.A. listed ($78k USD), asking $60k USD with 5K miles on... it. American Suspension inverted front end with single 6 piston front brake caliper and Custom Cycle Control air ride. B.T.C.S. exclusive chassis & sheet metal. 5 gal gas tank and 4 quart oil tank. Performance Machine hand controls & forward controls. Fuel injected R&R 131 motor with Baker 6 speed RSD w/trans bake and Tech Cycle semi open primary. All standard blacked out parts and level 3 graphics, A Jeff Phipps custom hand made exotic skin seat finishes it off. See more

Riding around these days is just like the scenes in the video (only smaller towns for me)
Well, I'm in the Hospital This has not been a good morning. After spending the last 4 weeks quarantined inside the house, Limited contact with anyone in my neighborhood since mid March. Enough is Enough so I decided to go for a nice ride, something I haven't done in a bit. It turned out to be a horrible mistake! I got on my ride and started out slowly, or so I tried, but then it got crazy and went a little faster; and faster, before I knew it, I was going as fast as the that... thing could go. I couldn't handle it and fell off, but caught my pants on the foot peg beside the crash bar. I was being dragged and bounced all over the place. The dang thing just would not stop! Thankfully the manager at Dollar General came running out and unplugged the machine. Then he actually had the nerve to take the rest of my quarters, so I wouldn't try to ride the damn Fire Truck or Clown Car... A few scrapes and bruises but nothing was broken. I will wear leather and a helmet next time. Well, the helmet was suggested by the doctor.. and I only have to stay in here for the mandatory 72 hours required by the mental health people.. How many of you actually read what I wrote? If you did, copy and paste for someone else to get a laugh! We certainly need a little humor these days, and if you're going for a ride, be safe out there!
It's only a matter of time before the wind will be in our faces again and we can enjoy the freedom only bikers know. https://youtu.be/gxDJRO2x_uw
This could be a real game changer for some riders with old iron! http://www.4speedelectricstart.com/
All righty boys & girls, lets pray for the C.M.D.R.A. TOP FUEL race season!! If CNN says it, it's gotta be the truth, Right?!
This guy performs like some kind of mechanical savante who built his own asymmetrical freak machine out of random parts he found in a junkyard and assembled to fit his semi-deformed body. Just look at those SKINNY tires! The safety gear he's wearing looks like it was found in his basement or the the scrapyard, then he emerged from his dark world with absolutely NO FEAR to finally show the world his true skills. The crotch rocket riders are absolutely choked! https://youtu.be/rDJZjdKai24
Round table discussion at the "Whitehouse" on finding a "cure"
Sometimes it takes a lil bit of a language barrier to get a point across. BEST laugh I've had in weeks!
Sending a big shout out to all the new "LIKES" for this page. I'll do my best to keep you entertained, enlightened, and excited about riding. If anyone has any ideas about what you'd like to see or learn about, please do not hesitate to let me know, otherwise I'll just carry on! Enjoy the ride!! Enjoy the ride!
Here's an old tune from George Thorogood that seems to be appropriate for our times? https://youtu.be/4E9ydw_aDMg
Just a buncha dudes havin fun and singin a song with a great beat.
I ask people who are motorcycle lovers to join the challenge of posting a photo of their bike. Just a picture, no description. The goal is to flood FB with positive motorcycle photos instead of negativity. Copy the text to your status, post a photo of your bike and see some cool photos. I'll start with a couple of my own.
Truly a wonderful and colourful shot of the kind of PAN-demonium we can enjoy!
RIDING is the original "Social Distancing" Though it appears this season will have unfamiliar obstacles and challenges, it is up to each of us in this community to keep it together and support each other during these uncertain times. Support your local bike shops, participate in the events, and continue to be the "Black Sheep" knowing that your example of freedom with responsibility is what the rest of the herd looks up to. (one of my favourite T-shirts)
Always a good ride and a great time
Somebody is going to become the proud owner of this very cool bike, will it be you?
I have personally awarded this bike several awards at events I've judged over the years, and it consistently proves it's "worth" to the audience and the judges. It is a time tested labour of love for the owner, as well as several other very talented local businesses. It is a multi award winning motorcycle is but a mere shadow of it's original state as delivered from the motor company. The registered VIN decodes as a 1976 FXE-1200, yet the only part of this bike that is even r...Continue reading

H-D tries to "sweeten the pot" of their overpriced E-bikes with 1 year of FREE charging for first year LIVEWIRE buyers
There was a time when I thought it would be good to align my services with this company......Kinda thankful I never pursued that!
For my American friends, it's getting down to the wire. SPEAK NOW OR FOREVER HOLD YOUR PEACE! https://www.dealernews.com//speak-now-or-foreve/2019-06-05
UNFUCKWITHABLE: "Extraordinary minds do not need to seek validation from outside opinion or through attainment of goals. Instead, they are truly at peace with themselves and the world around them. They live fearlessly----immune to criticism or praise and fueled by their own inner happiness and self love" Quoted from "The CODE of the EXTRAORDINARY MIND by Vishen Lakhiani
This event is going to ROCK!!
What a great day for a ride through the mountains, I chose to race to Merritt today to catch up with a friend, who had just left my place and forgotten something important, and hopped on the bike and did Mach 9 with my hair on fire, to be able to catch up with him, and succeeded in my high speed adventure to meet him, (he had a 20-minute head start, and I caught up! ) This is my view on the way back from my journey overlooking the Highland Valley tailing pond. What a beautiful view, dependent on your perspective!
A fitting tribute to "The Godfather of Customizing" Arlen Ness, featuring some of his best known works of rolling art. R.I.P. Arlen.
Just another day at the office, and today I'm working on an appraisal of this bike. Registered as a 1950 FL, there is NOTHING on this bike that is original! Bit of a conundrum!
Yet another significant loss to the motorcycling community. Jesse Rooke was a significant force in the bike world, making the transformation from bicycles to motorcycles, and bringing fresh cleanliness to the custom industry. He died doing what he loved, riding. R.I.P. Jesse.
ARLEN NESS, "The KING of Customizing". R.I.P. 1939-2019. He was an early pioneer, a innovator, and an inspiration to many. With family as a first priority, he was the head of a clan of good men who followed in his footsteps. His legacy will live on. Via Con Dios.
I'm working on expanding my reach, or my exposure by beginning a blog on my website. If there's any input, ideas, or information that you all would like to see or offer, I'm all ears and eyeballs! Just like so much of my life, I'm making this up as I go along, and I'm doing the best that I know to do at this time. Thank you for your support I look forward to any feedback.
Just doing an appraisal on a 1991 FXRS, and looking at the photos, I'm reminded of a dear departed buddy of mine Jim Davis, a.k.a. JD, who did up an FXR very much like this one almost twenty years ago. It's funny how some styles of bikes seem to be almost cyclical over the decades. The FXR has always had a place in my heart, though I've only owned one (so far). I think this one is spectacular in it's attention to detail even though it is very sudued in it's presentation, trust me when I say, there is WAY MORE here than meets the eye. This bike will go like a rocket, and turn the heads of those who know what they're looking at. Kudos to Roger Goldammer for his world class workmanship, once again.
For any and all you Pro One fans out there, I just had this QUAD LINK cross my desk. Seems they're coming out of the woodwork, this is the third one this year?! 121 cubic inch TP Engineering motor and race car inspired rear swingarm.
Everyone have a "ghoul" day today!
Just another day in the life of a company that relies on offshore parts to build their bikes?! https://www.marketwatch.com//harley-davidson-stock-surges-
Took a trip down memory lane as I was feeling nostalgic. Who remembers the "Super Vee" from Nostalgia Cycles?
"POLICE SPECIAL"??? Maybe back in 1956 when it was in the original paint! This is the epitome of a very cool old chopper in my opinion. Super clean panhead with a kicker, adjustable triple trees, upswept fishtails, and floor boards. Classic! This is one of five different bikes that will be offered for sale in the near future.
One of my all time personal favorite bikes has been the FXLR, and this one from Ohio ranks right up there as good as it gets in my eyes, except maybe the saddle bags, yeah, I'd do something different with the bags.
My friend has a 2008 FLSTF with saddlebags, engine guard, windshield, Stage I, and plenty of tasteful "bling", with just over 19,000km, that needs a new home. $13,500.00 check the original ad http://tinyurl.com/y8lgnwmp
For the gearheads in the crowd........I'd seen photos of this machine earlier this year and questioned if it actually ran, well here it is! She's a STRAIGHT LINE piece of engineering that will wipe his ass if he ain't careful! Interesting?...it's an attention getter for sure, Ingenius?....yup, impractical?.....for sure.
Copy, Paste and share the shit out of this, Please. Thank you in advance! It’s really maddening that brazen thieves are out there to rip off a mans legacy that he worked his entire life for... If anyone sees or hears about a yellow, 1947 Indian motorcycle,a blue 1948 Indian motorcycle ( with a Harley front end) or a 1951 black Indian motorcycle call 778 387 3145... or 911..with the file# 18-31847. They were stolen from Burnaby. Thx.
Harley-Davidson's Message to its dealers. Dear Dealers: I’d like to take this opportunity to give you some additional perspective on our response to the tariffs being imposed by the EU and clarify some inaccuracies that have been reported in the media. For the detail on our decision I encourage you to read the announcement we shared yesterday here on H-Dnet. You can find a link below. *****************************************************************************To clarify, we... are not moving our Kansas City production to Thailand. Our Kansas City plant is being consolidated into our state-of-the art plant in York, PA. This decision was based on our need to address excess capacity we have in the U.S. Harley-Davidson motorcycles sold in the U.S. will continue to be made in the U.S. Harley-Davidson motorcycles will not be imported into the U.S. from international facilities. ***************************************************************************** On June 22, 2018, the European Union enacted tariffs on various U.S. manufactured products including Harley-Davidson motorcycles. The increased EU tariff from 6% to 31% results in an incremental cost of approximately $2,200 per average motorcycle exported from the U.S. to the EU. We do not feel it is acceptable to pass that additional cost on to our dealers or the retail customer and therefore have chosen to take the actions outlined in our 8-k. As we’ve said before, increasing international production to alleviate the EU tariff burden is not our preference, and we are hopeful the U.S. and EU governments will continue to work together to reach an agreement on trade issues and rescind these tariffs, so we do not have to take these extraordinary steps. This decision was made after very carefully weighing our options and choosing the best decision for our riders, our dealers, our business and brand. As a dealer you are among the greatest advocates for Harley-Davidson. And I share this clarification with you because you can help relay our position and our intention when you’re asked about it, from your customers, your teams, your friends and family. It’s unfortunate that the real facts are not always reported on, and it’s important to us that you know and understand the facts. Thank you for your continued commitment to our great brand. Regards, Dave Cotteleer VP and Managing Director, U.S. Sales See more
The idea of living up here in the Cariboo area is just what a soul needs. To be able to enjoy the twisty roads and the fresh air and sunshine for a couple of hours is therapeutic. If any appraisal clients would like the idea of an overnighter to get your bike appraised, I'm considering the idea of a Biker B&B with BBQ dinner, libations and bon fire then bacon and flap Jack's for breakfast. I've got a couple of nice guest rooms, the ride here is spectacular (4-1/2 hours from the coast) Any feedback is welcome.
Log Cabin Pub owner John Kingston is ready to sell his award winning ole school rigid, if anyone wants a deal on a EVO 4 speed, kick only bike with lots of life left in her call John or Laurie at 250-458-2215. I heard he will let it go for $8500
It is amazing to me, looking at this bike! Though it looks "plain" at a quick glance, once you start seeing the details it's a very intricately fitted machine with the Roger Goldammer quality throughout. Began as a 1992 FXR
Some good news showed up today, https://www.autoblog.com//harley-davidson-electric-motorc/
Part of the fun of being an appraiser is also the privelidge of judgeing at show n shine events and getting to present the trophies to the winners and have fun with it.. Thanks to Trev Deeley Motorcycles and Gary Richardson's from @AIM
So I'm preparing an appraisal on a "Deuce" that was modified by Roger Goldammer, and I'm finished with the research and the math. I had a great conversation with Roger about the bike to get some background on it, and now I'm writing my final comments. I was about two and a half paragraphs into the description of the bike when I hit the "undo" button in M/S Excel (which is what I use for my database). WELL! I'll be damned if the whole dissertation I just composed didn't dissapear! no worries, I'll just hit the "redo" button, right? No such option exists! Shit, now I get to start all over again! There's something to be said for hitting the "save" button I guess eh?! How would you describe this bike?
Had fun judging at the car show in Abbotsford tradex last weekend
My mind has been BLOWN! Having a hard time not being jealous of the dude that got this one, not so much for the Corbin Warbird kit, but look at the rest of the goodies........for $12,101 cdn?!
For all you biker types who didn't get to give your opinion on TRANSFERABLE PLATES and LANE FILTERING at the bike show, here is your opportunity: LET YOUR VOICE BE HEARD by checking the boxes on this online petition http://www.bccom-bc.com/bike-show/
America's "other" manufacturer takes a step backwards: http://www.polaris.com//victory-motorcycles-important-anno
Big news for some, Sad news for some, Bad news for others.
Went to see this cool home built chopper yesterday for an appraisal. Some real nice detail work on it done by Trick Factory
Had a chat with an old friend yesterday about the changes in the landscape of the custom bike world. He "got out" before the epic downward demand for big buck choppers and bling barges, trading his $100k custom built 330 series rigid for a Corvette and opting for a BMW gran tourer as a dialy rider. Who else has felt the urge to "just ride" in anonymity, forsaking all the corporate branding and commercial hype?
